I would also like to add before you move out get things like plastic cups, paper plates, dish washing liquid, laundry detergent, mop bucket, Ramen, Can goods etc in bulk, prior to actually moving out. It can help save on the cost while you are actually on your own. That can add up and bite you in the ass later on.

Ashley Golden yes!!! I started a stockpile (w/ toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, hand soap, clorox wipes, etc) about two months ago for my new apartment and I know it'll save my ass when I move next month so I won't be stressed financially or mentally. I'll have more important things to worry about than purchasing small things the first few weeks I move in.

Also go on Pinterest, they have so many Blogs about Apartment living and how to move in and organizing etc.
I lived with my parents for 37 years until they pasted away. My father from a heart attack and my mother from colon cancer. I'm 42 now and I still live in the same house. It's hard not seeing them anymore.

IamKayRenee At the beginning it was very hard. But as time went by it got easier. Time does heal all wounds. I did some remodeling around my parents house to make it look like my own. Now a days it's all good. I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking.

You'll do fine. Just believe in yourself, take it one day at a time and you'll make it.
I feel like the faster you accept responsibility is the faster you become an adult no matter what age you are. I swear I became the most happy when I became self sufficient. There’s nothing more fulfilling then listening to your self and supporting yourself. I recently just did a video on the same topic pretty sure y’all will like it. Much love ❤️
Your advice is on POINT!!🙌 thank you for this. You're awesome!!👍
free furniture on craigslist all the time!... just read descriptions carefully
great tips touching music really hits on a personal level which is great considering how personal moving out or being kicked out can be.

Great advice! Im moving out February (hopefully) and this really helped!
When I moved 1997 the only furniture I had was a sweatshirt that I used as a pillow. Those were the days! Good video. I will share with my teen daughters. Thanks.
Thank you for this!
Thank you for the tips. I'm 18 yrs old and this is my senior yr of highschool. Im trying to get an apprenticeship in hvac which I will be finnishing up the course this year at vocational highschool. I'm currently trying to save up for a small pickup truck and eventually insurance for it. I'm fortunate enough that my guardians are allowing me the time to save up money for these things. Love the attitude brother!
Thanks A lot you helped, I'm moving out soon in 3 months and I had so many questions and you answered them haha thanks , subbed 👌🏼
Thank you for this video man. I plan on moving out in two weeks! I’m 23 years old I just need a room of my own I’m too old to sleep on the couch in the living room I have a full time job. I just feel it’s time to spread my wings and try something for myself. I’m honestly scared thankfully my best friend is also renting a room in the same place and that gives me peace of mind. Hope for the best though. Other videos put moving out down instead of giving tips to help those that see a lighter side in it thank you for that
Thanks for your advice 👍🏽
Thank you 😌 This was really helpful !
Thanks Lee! Great video
This is great! Thanks for the help
i like you man you seem real relatable
kinda wish I had seen this before I moved out...I'm not necessarily struggling but being prepared would have helped greatly

Thanks man I am 27 been living from room to room but I need my own apt I have full-time job but I will do my best to plan.
I loved the video and the tips! I dream to live on my on for some time, but our culture here in Brazil is very different, is not so easy like I see in USA to find a job and is even harder to work and study at the same time while living alone, I hope I can do it. Your video was very inspiring, thank you for the calm and attention :) I'm sending you peace and love and happiness in your life. xoxo

One idea I’ve been thinking about is working at a company-Wal-Mart, target, Best Buy, etc. some place that will allow you to transfer to a new area that way once you move a job will be waiting for you. Also couponing is a great way to save money while on your own! Good luck to you all
I can’t wait
Thanx man! I'm getting on them years that I feel like sitting on my hands puts my mom in worst situations financially. It doesn't help we argue from time to time. Cause I'm afraid to tell her about how I feel about staying under her and how it eats me up. But I've decided to get a good job $10-15 an hour buy furniture, pots and pans , sanitizing essentials and go.

Hang in there, it all gets better over time. Your relationship with them may also improve as you get older as well. Sometimes it just takes you moving out, experiencing life on your own for a while for things to get better.
I’m 19 years old and I look forward to moving into my first apartment within the next 5 years or less! I want to finish college first (which I will finish in the next 2 years I think) and get a full time job before getting my first apartment (I have a part time job rn)
thank you ! (:

I would aim for 1500 at the lest. if you are moving into a apartment you have to make at least 3×rent before they accept your request. depending on where you go you have to factor in start up or transfer fees for electric and water start up and all. if you can aim for 1500 or 2000 would help absorbed the moving complications. you thought need to make sure you can keep it up at least make enough for the bills. foods and gass is a unknown cost each month though.

Shay Renae Secure a job. Put furniture on layaway. Save money. Start buying toiletries, pops, pans, dishes. Shower curtain. Make sure you buy a vacuum cleaner. Find a place that has a washer and dryer in unit. Be walking distance to public transportation if u don't have a car. Do not have roommates. They will destroy your experience and your learning curve. Good luck.

i plan to move in 3 months at the most, i am thankfull that i got a mother "also is my boss" That cares and would help me, though atm im bickering about why i want to move. All in all im in a small town and she knows practically everyone. I make about 1200$ a month and the apartments im lookin at are around 500-600 depending on area.
Thanks man that was really helpful. Im planning on moving out just before school starts. My parents are opposing me leaving but i just think that is time to go. I have a well paying job and im about to start school. Any tips on how to ease my parents into accepting me moving out?
Thank you for sharing your videos! I subscribe and liked your channel :)
Thank you so much! I took almost a page of notes because I’ve been enabled all my life and I want my own life and independence! Gotta start NOW! Carpe Diem 😊
Hi, just want to say, thanks a lot for the helpful videos! I'm planning on living on my own (despite my current age being 15). My parents started disagreeing with what I want to do with my life and they constantly take the absolute piss out of me for it and always argue with me, never listen to me. This is why I'm looking into this stuff early. I just want to ask about the budget. How would I gain a budget if I'm planning on having a job which is done via computers and mobile devices? I do believe that programming jobs (especially game programming) has a neat payment as you progress but hell, I don't even think I'm going to make it through College. I live in the UK so the laws are a bit different from the US in these terms but I'm just curious. I really think it'll come to the point where I'll get kicked out before I have a job so I'm just preparing early in case.
I sure Can't wait 2 leave for sure

@@leonela3947 budget lol dont spend wrecklessly because there is no one to bail you out if u do. I also recommend developing a bit of cooking skill, itll save money and keep u from getting fat (if you cant cook, the urge to order food will be too great for most people to resist) have your expectations together, youll spend the majority of your time working and youll be tired when you get home and all of those parties and activities you think youll have, you wont😅😅

I'm sorry to hear that. I know it's scary but definitely know that everything will eventually even out. Just keep those goals in mind!
I honestly can't wait till I move out, I'm 18. I want to be able to support myself and be dependent, I know I can be. I want a job asap and be able to do it while in school. Still in highshool. And sadly didn't graduate, but I know or sure I will this year. Most confident I've been of anything. I've been changing everyday to ready myself when the day I do move out. Like your channel and advice, I'll subscribe:) want to be able to move out by next year when school is over or if I'm making enough, hopefully move out before. I know it'll be tough at first but I'm ready for what comes ahead.

The thought of living on my own scares me to death hope I will be successful thnx bruh.
Nice. Videos
My dad threatened to kick me out habitually for something as simple as having laundry on my bed or having suicidal thoughts (I have depression). He hasn't yet but he literally just throws tantrums. i work and go to school and pay for most of my own stuff outside of insurance (we have Tricare). At this point I'm debating going in the military to get the heck outta dodge. I only stay because of all my pets. I'm nineteen, turning twenty in February which he always points out even tho his wife's kid is 25 and pregnant living in our apartment on top of our barn
I haven’t had a cooked meal from my parents since I was 10...I’m 22 now 😂 I either cooked or I starved
What would you consider a good amount of money to have saved up before you move out?
Thank you for this very helpful video, Lee. I’m about to get officially evicted from my parents house tomorrow. 😢❤️
What do u do for a living???
