The “odd shooters” are generally called semi-autos or burst-fires. I imagine you probably know this but I feel like mentioning that

Yeah. I was just highlighting that they're considerably different compared to the automatic ones since their damage is directly related to how well the shots are timed.

Hey I just wanted to let you know this was an absolute life-saver. I found the main reason salmon run was so difficult for me was not knowing most of the weapons. (especially since I usually work best with quick low damage weapons) I wouldn’t say I’m the best at most of these weapons, but this video really helped get my overall priorities in order. I’m happy to say I am doing 100 times better than before finding this, so thank you.. :)

I’d heard that the L-3 rhythm is roughly equal to - “The Room Where it Happened” from Hamilton - “Basket Case” by Green Day And H-3 is the Imperial March tempo. It looks like that just about lines up with your demonstration so that seemed like it was worth spreading!

Interesting. I never heard that before. I did it the hard way. I just recorded shooting the weapons and counted frames to make sure it was the max speed. It was tedious. But I wanted to make sure people knew the limiting factor is the timing. They have pretty good damage, but it can be abysmal if improperly timed.

Something to keep in mind with Ballpoint and Nautilus is that, unlike the other Splatlings, they can pause firing to start charging again, which for the Ballpoint is integral to effective usage (to have some semblance of this with Heavy, Mini or Hydra you need to briefly pop into squid form, dropping the charge in order to start charging again sooner)

Thank you for saying that all rollers can deal with glowflies, there are still people in freelance I meet that use swig/carbon swings instead of rolling which hurts my soul lol. Great depth to these weapons honestly, you did an awesoke job!

You forgot that big swig can knock back chums and cohunks, plus yourself, if they aren't splated yet. Brellas are great at painting walls by slightly turn o a wall and shoot with brella, and that can happen to splatanas too. Great tips for these weapons.

Yeah, there was a lot more I wanted to say, but I was trying to give some of the most useful information in a relatively short time. I didn't have a hard limit, but the weapons are covered in probably 20 seconds or less. I'll eventually have to do more in-depth guides later. I just wanted to do sort of an overview for anyone that is very unfamiliar with a lot of the weapons. But thank you for the comment.

17:33 The main reason why you want to shoot slightly above the target is because explosher projectiles do not stop unless it hits map terrain or a mudmouth that won’t be killed with that shot. This means that you can combine the direct and indirect hits for massive damage

A smal and wel known tip i have is, if you dont know how to use a weapon, or just find it annoying to work with, try it in turf war, that way u can practice, or even in the side order dlc if it has that, laybe even the hero mode if u find a level that has the weapon, and really use the training dummies for salmonites u can see which one it is with the stickers on it, and all these are a great way to practise

A few notes Shot / Splash / 52 / N-zap - due to all of these weapons generalist nature study a roatation and understand it's weaknesses for you to sure up Rollers Geneal - you can deal with stingers effecfivly by rolling into the pots and then spinning to get the final 3 pots Flignza - vertical flick in close range deals 300 damage 1 shotting a steelhead Dynamo - if you can position yourself agaisnt a wall or thr basket you can kill maws without using a bomb, so while risky can save you ink Bamboo - for maximising DPS with bamboo you want to consistently partial charge and it has no effect on your range E-liter / hydra - due to these weapons high damage you can shoot the flipper flopper directly and can be the faster method to splat it if you are charged up Heavy / nautalis - in a close range senario you need about 1/2 a circle of charge to splat a cohock or 500 hp boss Hydra - for hydra it's about 1/4 circle for chocks or 500hp bosses. Ballpoint - to stay in short range mode for maximinum DPS you need to recharge every 1/4 of a cricle of charge. This is about 1/4 of a second or listin out for the distinctive sound. Range blaster - as directs deal 250 damage you have a unique neiche of dealing with 500hp bosses quite effectivly. Tri slosher - damage falloff on tri is harsh so try to stay on level ground of salmon to maximise DPS Machine - if you want to 1 cycle a drissler you will want to pre-fire and ain directly up so the slosh can hit the explosed drizzler. Explo - the glob can pentrate slamon which makes it better to fire directly at stright lines of slamon rarther than using the explosion. This is important for hydroplant or rush waves Tent - due to the wide sheild launch tent is unqiue as a weapon that can in two places at once which can be usueful to help filter lessers while dealing with a priority threat. Reef - simialr to bamboo optimal DPS is achived through partial charges don't ever use tap shots for fighting this style requires you to get in reasonably close range. Spltana's genaral - to do you melee charge slashes without doing the dash it's often best to jump and slash to land melee charges on drizzlers you want to get to the edge of your melee slash range so the armour dosen't block it. Wiper - most important damage combo to remember is 325 melee charge into a melee horizotnal slash to deal with cohocks allowing wiper to act as a high risk high reward lesser clearer. Stamper - most important damage combo is 400 melee charge into 100 damage horizontal slash is the fastest way of dealing with 500 HP bosses. Aplogies for the massive text dump but hope this helps.

If I may add one for Gootuber: Quarter charges deal 100 damage, nice for moping up a couple Chums here and there or finishing off Cohocks/500 HP bosses hit by a full charge. Also an incredibly good trick for shooting down Drizzler torpedoes. (before I discovered this, I hated Salmon Run Gootuber, but I don't anymore.)

For Glooga, it gets all 4 possible turret mode (post-dodge roll) benefits: more range, higher damage, better accuracy, & a faster fire rate. Most dualies just get the accuracy & fire rate increases, meaning it's especially important to turret as often as you (safely) can to maximize your output with Gloogs.

  • @splattuning

I looked it up to make sure, Gloogas does *not* get increased fire rate in Turret stance, just damage, accuracy, and a bit of range. (Fun Fact, Gloogas Turret stance doesn't give perfect accuracy, only nearly perfect. This is something I found out recently toying with them between games)

Play a lot and stick with a group until you get the king salmonid spawn. And even if you can't defeat it, damage it as much as possible to get more scales. Cohozuna: Use the highest damage weapon directly on the boss. Only attack other bosses to keep you and others out of danger. Horrorboros: The longest range weapon needs to stay focused on the ink ball in its mouth. But there aren't really any shortcuts, unfortunately. The only way to speed it up is if you have 3 friends that are as good as you and you can play consistently.
