    As a new Street Fighter 6 player who is also very new to fighting games and thinks Dee Jay is a really cool character, I think I’m going to use these tips to learn the basics of the game and how street fighter works in general, and by proxy most ground based 2D fighters since a lot of them took the basics from street fighter in general and added a lot of their own twists on top of the solid fundamentals of street fighter really.

    Maaan backdash in the corner is legit I really need to start implementing it in my matches. A guaranteed jab punish is so good esp since I play Kimberly and she has that final fight chain combo that side switches, might just be the best option for me in terms of risk vs reward

    @@MikeyDLuffy Not just a bit, espacially the walking back against blockstrings is a real gamechanger, you can't imagine how many Kens and Cammys have terrorized me with those light strings. Also i didn't know that delay throw tech works against jump ins, i always struggled with that old jump in heavy, throw setup.

    I just want to add that if ur playing manon, calling out a shimmy isnt best met with a combo starting low, you can't really convert off anything from a low at good range, ur best bet is to prob light or ex command grab

    Any tips for canceling light punch/kick into a special? For example, Juri can cancel her crouching light punch into a DP, but the timing for the input feels pretty tight, especially since I'm already holding down for the crouch. Is it just a matter of practice? Should I not be holding the down button? Same question for linking normals. Do I just need to put the hours in to burn in muscle memory?

  • @MikeyDLuffy

    @MikeyDLuffy

    Жыл бұрын

    Some of it is just practice yeah but there are a few tricks that make a lot of inputs easier. For example, for a DP you dont actually ever have to stop crouching, you can go from down+forward, to down and back to down+forward and get a DP. So just hold down forward during the crouching LP and then just fidget to down then back to down forward

  • @3ureka

    @3ureka

    @@MikeyDLuffy Ohh damn. I kind of found out that I could hold forward and then tap down + any punch to get a DP, but I didn't know that I could get similar results with a down+forward. Thanks for the tip!

    At what times is an immediate tech a good option as opposed to delay tech? Is an immediate tech the call out to someone delay meatying you (trying to call our your delay tech)?

  • @MikeyDLuffy

    @MikeyDLuffy

    Жыл бұрын

    Immediate tech can beat someone delaying their meaty yea. It is also safer against neutral jump. Sometimes people will neutral jump to beat delay tech, but if you immediately tech'd you are much more likely to recover in time before they reach the ground

    @@MikeyDLuffy right right, its like the inverse of being on the offense on throw loops, whiffing throw on their neutral jump but still recovering in time to antiair. I appreciate the response my guy, great content!

  • @MarvinTobisch

    @@MikeyDLuffy As a beginner, it seems your wakeup options really are mostly rock, paper, scissors. However, as I understand it, shimmying is something you'd rather see in high-level play, so would you say that delay-teching still remains the best default for something like silver ranked? At least until you get to a point where it doesn't work realibly anymore?

    So that's why I'm mashing when I know they are grabbing and i get counter hit. Yeah defense is gonna be an issue. I don't understand delayed teching. Like is it really just tech as late as possible? But doesn't it get it if you do it?

  • @MikeyDLuffy

    @MikeyDLuffy

    Жыл бұрын

    Not as late as possible, just not as soon as you wake up. When someone wants to hit your wakeup, they will time their attack to hit you as soon as you get up, you want to wake up and block for a bit to make sure you block the meaty if this did happen, and then tech just a little later. This way if they did meaty you with a normal you would block it and your tech would not come out because you would be in blockstun, but if they did throw you, you would tech it.
