Urban Knife Guy shares his thoughts on the new Roxon Flex, a modular multitool where you can choose and purchase the toolset you want.

The steel for the FLEX body is made with 2Cr13 and 3Cr13.
The implements are mostly made with German Din 1.4116 stainless steel.
There are some exceptions:
Pliers and removeable wire cutters = 5Cr15MoV
FTS2-6 Phillips Screwdriver = 5Cr15MoV
FTS3-1 Flint = Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon + Flint
FTS4-11/4" Bit Adapter 420 Stainless Steel

This tool is really cool and the presentation as well. We could have a long debate whether this customizable multi-tool will take over the whole market or not. I think in the end, both will exist - pre-customized tools like Victorinox and customizable ones. Some people will keep wanting a professional to customize the tools for them. But the Roxon is a great innovation, no doubt.

There’s small businesses built around customization of victorinox SAK’s, but I agree would be better if the manufacturer had that kind of service. I can imagine with the Roxon flex, people will be able to make an infinite variety of compatible add-ons, very exciting times!!

Awesome tool. I wish my Roxon Phantom can do that.
Looking forward to this, I already have a GOAT tool which suits me as the blades are non locking which works for the UK but I like the idea of a bladeless Flex. Cheers 🍻
