You can learn everything you need to know about cold water shaving from the movies. Goodfellas "always cut with a cold blade you get a cleaner cut." Good morning Vietnam "remember to always shave with a cold razor to prevent razor burn."

Same as Tony here. Switched over because of that crazy Scottish Aussie. Even did a shave with ice in the sink. Lol It really depends on the day but I prefer cold water. Especially when I use a menthol soap!!! Great info and video Sir!

Hi from Antalya, Turkey. I switched over to cold water shaving about 3 months ago and it's the best thing I have ever done. My lather seems much slicker and creamier and my shaves much closer and smoother. I don't get any nicks or cuts anymore. It's not for everybody but it's worth a try.

Being able to cold water shave is needed to be a versatile wet shaver. In austere environments being able to still enjoy a shave without hot water is an outstanding experience. Although, a warm water shave is better for enjoying essential oils in per and post shave products. If the post shave is giving you problems instead of using just a cold shave finish the shave with cold water and a alum block, it’ll change your life. Good video!

@@ShavedWeiss witch hazel is a new one, I need to check that out. I currently do a cold water splash with an alum block. While the alum block settles on my face I clean the brush, then I rinse the alum block off with cold water again followed by post shave serum.... Yes, serum. Its a life altering experience. Hot water shaves always irritate my neck area, esp in winter. So, I've developed this cold water shaving routine w\ Merkur 34c: (0. Get a separate electric brush head just for your face/neck) 1. Disinfect brush head and DE blade (Voskhod) in barbicide solution or rubbing alcohol (10 mins) 2. Apply moisturizing cream 3. Exfoliate neck and face w/ electric toothbrush 4. Apply oil with low comedogenic rating, e.g. grape seed or castor oil: @t 5. Build lather directly on your face! I use Derby shaving cream 6. Shave. Optional: wear Vanquisher swim goggles if you have an eye-related traumatophobia 6.1. Rinse face after each pass 6.2. Re-apply oil/lather 7. Take icy cold shower in a spring 3mm wetsuit (~2 mins) I actually feel and look 5 years younger for a few hours. Total time: ~15-20 mins. Each shave should be treated as a medical procedure IMHO

I'm struggling with irritation when head shaving and everyone has always told me that hot water was the key... Same for the safety razors, some people say that a single blade will give you less irritation and others say that the more blades you have on your razor the better it is. I guess I'll have to try everything, I wish I will be able to shave my head without irritation someday. Love your videos by the way!

Trying everything seems to be the way to find what works best for you! Cold water definitely helped me with my irritation. I also make sure to put lotion on my head after every shower. That has also helped.
