I didnt find figuring out the direction too hard especially since they colored the edges of the board red and blue so you can figure it out quickly at a glance. I didnt mind it too much and it plays in a comfortable amount of time for what it is. Is it the best racing or programming game? No, but I didnt feel it was the worst either.

I think the joiystick puzzle is a fun gimmick. Actually most of my group like it. People that don't don't like that sometimes you luck out and get a great joystick without doing anything and that...well it's chaos...those are the boring members of the group. xD The point of the game is you ar enot min-maxing your move. You can't. You can't spend 10 minutes making the puzzle arranging everything as you want. In a way it's a gamble. So ... I'll go good first 4 moves, then I'll eat a hit then idunno we'll see I got go fast! We like that chaos. We had one of the grumblers being unhappy and mumbling how she didn't get a good joystic, how there was no time, how she couldn't do what she wanted hurr-durr. She ended second. She almost won and her mood instantly switchedwhen she realized that we're playing under the same circumstances as her. It was very fun in the end. But yeah if min/max turns is your thing you won't like the game. You just row with the punches. Adn the game goes very quick so the puzzle doesn't overstay its welcome (so far) and you don't mind having bad turns so much. And we all love the moment when someone goes first, very pleased with his joystic. Then his turn starts he confidently starts "Ok I go forward two, then diagonal...uhm 2...two? Ohh...no...this won';t go as I planned"... xD The face of realisation that something went wrong, that you mised and obstacle or the carpet, or you just mistook the diagonal. It's a laugh. Btw the diagonal movement is not nearly as confusing as you make it out. It's also colour coded. One of the sides of the track is blue the other is red. So you can just sort them by diagonal towards the red or the blue side. The confusion comes from you trying to be quick when you're programming. Ohh and the variable powers are super cool. You just wanna try all the racers. Granted some powers seem a lot better than others but sometimes it's situational. Honestly if you've ever enjoyed playing Revolt on the PC as a kid or any other toy car with weapons video game, this is more or less that but as a board game. Mario Cart-esque if you wish.

Came so close to backing this one... I'd still love to give it a go if I ever come across someone (or a cafe) with a copy.

The name "Tiny Turbos" reminds me of an old Lego Racers theme.

Have it. Will pass over to my little nephew, the game doesn’t quite hit the mark compared to what I was hoping would be a fun, party game with a nice puzzle element. Almost got there, but not quite.

Just have everyone shuffle up on of the "puzzles" and then randomly distribute them. You couldn't make it intentionally bad because you might get that one. Or figure out a mini-game with the sliders that ends up with them shuffled.

My wife and myself LOVE this game. So much better than Heat's card draw system. Racing IS chaos and this game holds it down PERFECTLY. Im disappointed in this review.

Wow, i can't disagree more. I HATE slide puzzles but love racing so i picked this one up. It's fun chaos. I found it pretty easy to shuffle the controllers. You also don't need to turn the controllers sideways because a blue arrow goes toward the blue border and the red arrow goes toward the red border. And rarely do you want a bunch of straights in a row. The symbols on the board are only needed when looking at the board the first time; then you know if it's an inpassible object or not. I own a lot of race games that require strategy. This is more of a party real-time game. Is give it a 7.5.

I found this to be a fun, light game that I can play easily with my 6yo son.

I know you don't ever review based on potential fixes, but what if instead of 'shuffling' everyone gets 30 seconds to intentionally sabotage the board before passing it along? It does put even more emphasis on the slide puzzle skill (which I agree is definitely not for everyone), but becomes a lot less luck or chaos based at least. Maybe becomes more interesting for a group of slide puzzle afficionados.

Then the one next to a good player will suffer all the time. This only works if then you shuffle the controller instead of passing it to the next player

I enjoyed this one and found the gimmick fun - it’s a quick game and because of that I don’t mind the chaotic nature. Will i grow tired of the gimmick? Maybe but for now i feel as if it doesn’t overstay it’s welcome and is a good laugh. 😊

The gimmick is incredible. Just the difficulty in randomising sounds like a major hindrance.

So sad. The production looks so good, but sliding puzzles for movement?? Could we just go back to roll and move with specialized dice sides.

Shame. This is actually a really fun game that's worked with 9 out of 10 people I've played with. If you want something serious, please go play heat: pedal to the metal. This it's chaos, as was said, but it's supposed to emulate micro machines, your cars. It's supposed to be chaotic and silly, and that really comes out in the slide puzzle. And honestly. As someone with one hand, upside down sliding to randomize it is actually quite easy. Keep a finger on the blank bit and use another finger to push a square in it. Rinse and repeat. Please try before judging, all 😀

I totally agree with your assessment, Tom - this is not racing. It's chaos. And it's not fun. HOWEVER, please explain what the difference is between this game (which is chaos with a slide puzzle) and Heat: Pedal to the metal, which is the same kind of crap, but oh, the chaos is delivered with a shuffle. I've played 7 games of Heat, and every single time the winner is not the player who planned the best, or created their deck the best, or made better decisions - it's the player who was luckiest in the shuffle. Which is not at all fun. AND YET, Heat was "the greatest thing since sliced bread. 15 / 10 Everyone should buy a copy of it. Even two", but this is crap? Hypocritical much???? 😖
