Watching your lives (since you began your journey together) has brought me so much joy 🥰 Sadie is living her best life!!! Having lived 60 years so far I can honestly say that “These are the things that make up a fulfilling life” To create a family, build a home together, laugh, get your hands dirty, cook great food and share it, find joy in the little things, take chances, appreciate and reflect, and sing….it doesn’t get better than that …..and you both do it soooo well. Thank you for sharing it with us🥰 You feel like family…. I live in Plymouth Ma.

Yes Jackie and It's almost like it is a well kept secret. Home, family, hard work, nature and joy are the basis for a profoundly enriched life! Glad these kids realize it and live it to the extreme. So many moments on these videos make me tear up with happiness, especially today Jordan playing guitar while Kaylee gently sings to Sadie. So poignant and beautiful!

Great job on the septic!. As a former installer, make sure you have a tee in and out of the first tank because it will have a floating layer. Red worms will also live in the floating layer and help it break down. Keeping the soap out is a huge help to it breaking down.

Hey all, I love watching you build your farm and grow your family. One thing on a septic system is that the solids actually float so you may need to make a small modification on the first tank. On the outlet side you need a 4" tee with the side of it inserted to the pipe going to the second tank. On the bottom side of the tee take a piece of 4" that will go to about 6" above the bottom of the tank and the top of the tee will be open to prevent siphoning from the first tank to the second tank. Again the tee will be inside the first tank to take the liquids from the bottom of the tank. Many blessings to you!

Back here in America, people (including me) are indulged in watching television, playing video games on their computers/texting on cell phones, treating their selves to a processed meal at McDee's. You both are not afraid of hard work. You both are fit and trim, eating healthy foods, living a clean life and your precious daughter is receiving quality time with her parents. You rock.

Most septic systems are a two chamber tank system. The first chamber take the solids and liquids, the solids float and over time degrade and break down, the liquids flow through to the second tank for dispersal, through a septic bed. Your dispersing through the bottom of that second tank. The important part is the pipe going from the first tank to the second tank needs a 90 degree elbow with a 12 inch pipe extension pointing down. This is installed in the first tank. This elbow and extension stops the solid wastes from flowing into your second tank and plugging it up. It allows only liquids to flow through the pipe, as the pipe extends below the floating scum line of tank #1. The level in tank #1 will come up to just above the level of horizontal pipe extending into tank #2. The liquid waste will flow into tank #2 and will not clog up your dispersal holes with solids from tank #1. All two chamber septic systems work this way. If you don’t add this downward elbow you will plug your system, then it’s really a messy repair. Also some people on remote septic systems won’t put toilet paper into those systems as it is a large bulk of the waste thats divertable. They have a container on the side and burn the toilet paper waste.

The solid waste tank will need a baffle on the affluent exit side. If you don’t have a baffle the crust/crud that forms on the top of the water will clog the exit line. All you need to do is put a 90 elbow on it where it enters the tank. Then add a short piece of pipe that goes half way down the inside of the tank. Also use 45 degree fittings if you need to put a bend on the solid waste line that comes from the house to the tank. If you use 90 degree fittings it could easily clog on you. The bathroom looks awesome.

Jordan, I love how you take care of your precious family. Sadie! Oh my gosh! She cannot get any cuter! I think you are 100% right about children and fear. I didn't see how the "Blacktank" is plummed on the inside, fyi the human waste will float while it is breaking down so to prevent clogging put a T inside upside down and a 90 pointing down about 1/2 way into the tank. The part of the T pointing up will act as an anti-siphon mechanism while the 90 allows liquid with disolved waste to overflow into your "Greytank"

Very nice work. Make sure that you have a pipe that goes halfway down on the inside of your black water tank, much like a siphon, for human waste to prevent any floating solids from going into your grey water tank. Otherwise, your human waste will float into your grey water tank.

Grey water from your washer and tub can all be directed towards surface plants so only brown waste goes into septic. If you start smelling sewage like we did then you can redirect the grey water in the future.

I don't know if anybody has told you this yet because I haven't read the comments all the way through. But I hope you put a baffle on the outflow of your 1st tank to keep solids from transferring over to the 2nd tank. Other than that, looking good.

I have had a worn farm for 30 years, it is SO satisfying isn't it? I have thousands, too wet is not good, to keep them under cover and you water them when needed, the food should usually give them enough moisture. Good job!!!

You probably already do this, but if you don't, I recently started using chicken bones as bone meal and it works great! Simmer the chicken bones for 12 hours and then dry them and they're like chalk, throw them in the blender and spinkle the mix ontop and into the soil!

I have a lot of dirt to dig up under our house as part of renovation works so I have been researching air spades to help loosen up the soil in preparation for removal.

We did the same exact septic system on our farm in Costa Rica and it works Great, it's been 2 years and the drain field tank is empty. Pura Vida Amigos ❤
