    The termites behave as if the frog is not there. Insects, including predatory insects, are not the same as amphibians or other animals.

    Tiny, adorable, lives in the exact worst place for an amphibian, and will win a staredown with many different manifestations of death and terror in sequence during an evening stroll before becoming a comparable nightmare to a termite colony for its midnight snack. ...     @@last1second Right. I'm no expert, but it's common for productions of all types to add in sound effects after the fact. As you can imagine, it's probably hard to catch all the little sounds when filming nature like this.

    @@alexanderleuchte5132 I've heard they do that sometimes, but there are some really great professional cameras with lenses that can have up to 100x zoom. But from all the detailed noises being picked up it does sound like it's in a recreated environment with microphones all over the place.

    1. extremely good camaras that can zoom really really far 2. lying down with the camara pointed at a thing for hours until something interesting happens 3. they don't write the scripts or anything until after they've captured the footage, so whatever good stuff they are able to get is what we see

    In this case it might be a set in a studio. The sand looks too smooth and especially the lighting and the background look very unnatural.

    It's all staged. The lighting is made to resemble moon light but it's actually studio lights. The animals are planted for the situation given. Yes this most likely does happen in the wild and is scientifically accurate but to capture it so precisely it has to be staged.
