I live in a area where we have thousands of Cranes birds and I have 2 of them in the back yard every day they come to me, they are so adorable cute and sweet. I love them 😍

She's a really good mum to her babies
They separate their chicks to avoid infighting... They're already godlike parents to their children compared to Shoebills!

And basically any other bird parent, they let their babies go to war with each other

@@rigo.acosta that's true, but shoebills in particular are savage. They play favorites - if there is one chick clearly superior over the other, it will continue feeding that chick and let the other chick starve to death.

@@rigo.acostaStorks are one of the few bird species where the chicks don’t try to get rid of one another. Instead, the parents do that themselves when necessary (in their view)… 🫤
Cranes are good parents.

I loved when she stood up and the chick fell out. I live in Alaska in the migration flight path. When the cranes lift off from the lakes, they form a giant dna 🧬 mass.

I live in Florida and one of the biggest joys to me is seeing pairs of cranes every spring with their young. A nuclear 2 parent household rearing their young together, sharing duties. Hmmmm, what a concept.

Yes, colts. Colt is the term used for the young of Sandhill Cranes.

Where can I get these videos free copyright please tell me??
Its cringey they ADR all the sound effects in these nature documentaries in post production. No nature photographer ever uses a parabolic microphone, the only device that'd be able to achieve these audio recordings. They even use ambient sounds like water running...where is water running in this scene?
