Tiny Cabin Build: Creating a Hidden Games & Puzzle Ceiling in my TINY HOUSE | Ep. 5
I'm getting nearer to finishing building my first tiny home. And there aren't many good little homes without games, or without nifty storage solutions! So I have created what might be the worlds first "Games ceiling".

I go a little stir crazy without a project, so I thought I would document my idiotic challenges, buildings, and musings. Thankfully, life on the water, in a Dutch Barge that is half-built, throws all kinds of weird and wonderful things at me.

Team! I've set up some social media accounts for Little Orchard Hideaways, It would help me hugely if you could give them a follow, and get them off to a good start! Cheers Legends. instagram.com/littleorchardhideaways/ facebook.com/LittleOrchardHideaways twitter.com/LHideaways instagram.com/jacob_harrell/
I think one of the hidden things should be a journal for the future guests to leave their thoughts about their stay. Also perhaps a coloring book and pencils, you could have a few dedicated frames, and trade out the art each time someone finishes a picture :)
I've never been this invested in a KZread channel before. Let's just say, if you keep uploading, I'll keep watching. Much support from Kenya.

What a lovely comment, thank you Michael!
I never thought of storing stuff in the roof, but that makes sense in such a small room!
These Tiny house projects demand such creativity and you’ve been consistently delivering! Amazing build Jacob!
For one person fun, you can store story books there too!

That's exactly what I was thinking! I wondered if there's actually enough room to DO puzzles since the table is pretty small. If the puzzles didn't work out, there's all sorts of stuff that could be tucked away in the ceiling by the kitchen.
I love the whittled men for closures, that's a fantastic little detail!
One player card game: solitair! 👋🏽👋🏽 switzerland

there's something about him opening and closing the puzzle ceiling and saying hello and goodbye to the games that warms my heart so much! It's so cute! Also the puzzle ceiling is brilliant!!!!
Well done Jacob!! I can't wait to see this completely finished! I would love to stay there !!

I still don't know how you manage to make it look like there are two of you talking to each other so smoothly
This is actually brilliant

If there was a larger gap in the ceiling, you could put mini bookshelves in there and have multiple books on each one. Turn it into a library.
The quality of both the build itself and the video editing is spot on, looks great!
I absolutely adore the carved wooden beard men closures!
hello algorithm, how is your afternoon?
It's cool and I like that you use some rope, not chain. It feels more "natural" I think 😁😁😁
@recoveringsoul755

for a guy who lives on a boat it's natural to use rope.

I would like the following games: cribbage board (with a deck of cards), checkers, chess, and backgammon! FUN! Will there be a 'book nook' for some reading materials? Perhaps some paperback crossword puzzles, soduko?

Perhaps the book corner can be in the sleeping loft
That light fitting is spot on
Woww, your idea is brilliant, Jacob I will never have game ceiling myself but for keep small stuff, high chance.
Someday would your business be open for internships? I'd be interested. If course that'd be a few years down the line for me since I'd like to at least of some college under my belt. My major would be architecture if that helps. At the very least I'd love to volunteer to help build!

check out Incredible Tiny Homes also, they are doing well. I don't think they'd do custom stuff like this though
you have to continue this projectand build alot more of these tiny home, i would love to see you build some of them on trees like a tiny tree house and link them up by bridges
Awesome idea for using the space. Love boardgames, so extra bonus there.
Solitaire with the cards! Clever idea. :)
Really enjoyed that! The little figureheads are delightful. :D
What an ingenious idea! Its all coning together really nicely in the tiny home!
Given the size of the house 2 player games are good bets: Jaipur is a fantastic 2 player card game in a nice small box!
I love the handmade whittled...knobs... 😂 🙌🏼
wow that’s certainly ✨creative✨ if you keep on using ur creative brain, I’m sure you’ll save a lot of space by the time your tiny home is fully done! :D
That ceiling turned out even better then I was expecting! Love it!
I love this build, and the creative solutions you’re using. Can’t wait to see when it’s done!
Best use of the double-Jacob so far.
This is a good idea. Dominos
Great video Jacob! It's coming along nicely!
Parcheesi would be a fun addition. And you could play solitaire alone. And thank you! You’ve inspired me to build a little free library. Now I have a proper quarantine project.
this is such a cool series! the production value is amazing and the tiny home so cool. I wish I lived in england so I could stay there :)
I would have to make the pull downs so they could hold more than one game each and could be changed out - in other words - frame each section completely and maybe put magnets on each game and on the top of the section so they don't fall out. Love the idea of using the ceiling for storage - may need to do that in my house.
Scrabble! There may not be room for a full board but I know you can be creative. ;) We play with just the letters on a table sometimes. Your videos make me smile, thank you!
Happy Tuesday!
Wow!! This is soooo cool i love the little beard man
GREAT idea & job. Are you going to put some kind of letter about the games in the ceiling for your Air-b-n-b renters, if your going to rent it out to others? In my tiny that's what I'm going to do in the kitchen for spices & like storage bags. I've seen it in other videos. I just think it's a great space saver idea. Well done job dear. Keep up the great work. Be safe, Chris from Missouri

Very cleverly! I love the idea of having games hidden in the ceiling. What are you going to put in the tiny house next?
That is a brilliant idea! Well done!
This is a really nice idea! I love seeing the tiny house coming along!
how to swollow a screw in less than 5 seconds!!! put in-between lips, tilt head back, start talking lol be careful dude love your content.

I have the same ceiling in my kitchen kind of. I keep my spices and teas in two of them.
Video-cloned Jacob doesn't know Patience and it shows 😁 Hey, what about a bit of shock cord (bungee cord) across the games to better secure them?
very cool! love that idea

We love your videos, my kids are asking for a chess game and we’re sold!
Good👍👍from Indonesia
Full version of "Lights Song" when?
You can play Solitare :O)
Finaly
Would it not have been better using neodium magnets and a push piston ? cleaner look on the ceiling
Solitaire is a single person card game. Ummm how do you do that camera trick to make it seem like there are two of you?
I like this idea with old man figures so much. There is a special cap to hide screw head you can buy. May be you will like them more then screw cross in old man's mouth. It is hard to say from video if cap will fit
increasingly confused as to how you get to the bed bit, bit worried that you've forgotten about that?
remember me when you're famous!
Could play solitaire :P
Play Solitaire Cards!
