Compact build using the RTX 4060 LP card, a card we don’t really understand but are testing today. We’ve tried to find any build that makes sense with this card, it took a lot of thinking and planning! Today we’re finally making a low-profile gaming PC with the low-profile RTX 4060!

    I have a 4060 lp in a asus expertcentre sff. I used a flex psu and the temp are not bad at all. At most I'll see temps at 75 c. I also use this card at 1440p which is very capable of doing. LOVE THE CHANNEL BTW

    I feel like the card would be a good build for a PC the was built with the GPU in mind. Now that does leave out a decent amount of office computers but i can see this being in something like those console sized PC prebuilts that cyberpower has on their website.

    Judging a low profile card by putting it in a case that doesn't require an LP card is not really the way to go... I am very happy that Gigabyte has made this tiny powerhouse, as it is currently the most powerful LP card on the market, besides the RTX A4000 SFF but that is insanely expensive... As for using it as an office PC upgrade, this is probably not the way to go in most cases. A lot of office PCs can only fit a single slot LP GPU so this 4060 is not possible. But besides that, a $300 ish GPU is not really what I would expect people to put in an old office PC anyway, the RX 6400 better fits there... Now where this GPU really shines is in SFF builds, it makes it possible to build an ultra compact PC with a very capable GPU. And the temps should be fine as the GPU is usually placed right up against a vented side panel. I'm planning on doing a very small build with this tiny beast when I get the budget to do so, hopefully soon... Also, I actually really like the Jonsbo C6, it's a weird layout, but it makes MATX take up very little space, but I think that it takes quite some tweeking to get it to perform nice and cool. Like, it doesn't officially support a 120mm AIO in front, but if you can fit it then the CPU temps are saved, and then put a fan under the GPU and temps should be good overall. I have to try it out some day!

  • @frankshaw2057
    @frankshaw20578 ай бұрын

    On the Jonsbo C6, I found that putting a high static pressure 120mm fan in the front poisition as an exhaust worked better with the temps. Pushing cooler air down to the CPU made more sense than pulling heated air in front of it.

    Don't know how it didn't click for you guys but 4060 is perfect in a HP Victus build. Stock PSU is 350w and the original GPU was 1660 Super. 4060 was a big performance upgrade that was within power limits. The alternative was RX 6600 (less performance) or joint PSU+GPU upgrade (to 500w) which just ate into my budget.

    This card could do well in SSF custom build where you can use the extra bit of space for cable management or maybe extra fans. It's not for everyone and I wouldn't put that into office PC with the price of 4060 but SSF builds could benefit from 4060, It can also work if you need small card that you can use in some sort of dock so you can connect it into handheld PC.

    Try this kinda build in something like the InWin BL040 case. It makes use of the fact the card is a low profile, supports mATX or ITX, ships with a TFX 300 PSU at around 100 bucks. Essentially the case is of similar proportions to a SFF Optiplex but supports more standard hardware. Perfect for say a Media streaming set up on someone's entertainment center, or on a small desk where space is a perineum and anything bigger then the footprint of a PS4 would be problematic.

    The only thing I don’t get, and please if anyone in the comments can correct me on this, is why would anyone go for an ITX build? Pretty much all the parts as far more expensive, you can be limited to low profile cards which lets be honest, aren’t great in performance, and you potentially have cooling issues, all for the added premium price. The only benefit I see to these builds is the small size, but is that really a benefit to the extra money you spend for sub-par performance?

Yes it's a bit more expensive but I'm not limited in any sense with the graphics card in my NZXT H1 - the non-"fire" version (and there are many others on the market today that offer the same space availability). It's little 8x8 footprint is perfect for the space on my desk and gives me access to my I/O without having to crawl under the desk. No cooling issues, great performance, great access

    I'd have no fear of a 4090 melting as I know how to fit a cable.

    Why, why would you buy an Optiplex when you can get an HP, like an 8300, or even a similar Lenovo? I mean, why? Why would you do that? On purpose, no less?

    Just because of the fan situation? Doesn't change the performance at all so I don't see why we would need to re-do the entire video

    Gotta agree, for being such a strong opinion about the temps. Not hard to just re run for those who wanna replicate this.

    im sorry i love yalls videos but yall gas lighting thee rtx 4060 when at native res of 1080p or even 1440 its on pare or at the same performance of a gtx 1080ti wich can be picked up loaclly to most prople around 100-150 usd how ever for most people who want the ray tracing and dlss and super res then the 4060 is the better option but i dont care for upscaling or downscaling to keep a playable frame rate \

    Ummm ….. if you wanted to put a 4060 in a Dell Optiplex, you need to do more PC research. No way I’d pair a 4060 in a gen 3 system 🤷🏻‍♂️

    The low-profile version is the only reasonable 4060. Otherwise the whole 4060/4060 Ti is a total joke.
