Scratch my auto-battle on-screen note in 18:36 about her targeting lower energy units. I tried other scenarios that yielded contrary results. So it's really a mystery to me now. 😭 (My next guess is that it's a Path/stat priority thing.)

From my observation she uses her ult on high offense allies. I think atk, critrate, critdmg are considered in the stat priority. I built my Yukong with hp build before and Tingyun never ult on Yukong. But, after I build her offense oriented she gets ulted by Tingyun a lot.

i was in a stream where someone tried that. Using Blade and TY as the consistent units, they tried speed, offensive stats (Blade had lower than some of the ones tested), ERR, changing character position around, etc. everytime they noticed Tingyun ulted only on Blade. the conclusion was it might be based off element and/or something else but i forgot. but they were still confused too.

There's actually a fairly well-written post on reddit concerning auto-battle targeting with Tingyun. Essentially, her ult's targeting is based on tiers - T1 with Hunt, Destruction, and Erudition, T2 with Nihility, and T3 with Abundance, Preservation, and Harmony. Anyone with the higher tier will be prioritized over anyone with the lower tier. So if you're running a standard solo dps comp with a debuffer, buffer, and sustain, then your solo dps will always get the ult. Moreover, if two characters of the highest tier are on the same team, then Tingyun prioritizes based on team order - with the 4th slot being highest priority, counting backwards to the 1st slot being lowest priority. So if you have both Blade and Jingliu in the party, but with Blade in slot 4 and Jingliu in slot 3, then Tingyun will always target Blade. EDIT: Just tested with Silver Wolf and Kafka and Tingyun targeted Kafka regardless of who was in which slot, so I assume this is was changed somewhat recently because I could've sworn she was targeting Silver Wolf before I changed their positions.

Theres actually something wierd about Blade paired with tingyun and a secondary dps. She will always buff the other dps with her skill, but her ult will always go to blade, ok code has tested it and he thinks it might be cuz blades priority was increased to tomuch after they fixed his priority problems on release.

Tingyun is the best preservation unit in the game, she is so good that literally every enemy in the game will attack her even with gepard, clara and fire mc with landau's choice and gepard signature cone combined

@@TkK1122 yeah, Bronya is also commonly targeted for me. I barely olay Tingyun and if I put them together without Gepard, they get attacked about the same, if Bronya and Gepard are on the same team, Bronya gets attacked slightly less. If I don't have Gepard (my Blade team, which is Blade, Bronya, Lynx, +1, Blade and Lynx somehow get attacked more yet Bronya still has the highest chance of dying

I love Tingyun. She did a full 180 for my teams and now every encounter is a real snap. Honestly I can clear content at break-neck speeds. Plus she's drop dead gorgeous.

I just want to say that your guides are very easy to understand. The narrations pacing is perfect. Some ppl I've watched are either too slow (so i watch them 2x speed) or too fast (i skip and not watch). The visuals are clean and not over the top. I'm watching this even tho I still haven't been lucky enough to get Tingyun (funny thing is I got Jingliu instead lol). I'm Tingyun-less but thank you for the guide regardless. This is a very timely video. A lot of the guides thay were out for Tingyun were from 3 to 4 months ago and even though they can still be reliable i feel like tingyun needed an updated guide with the new relics. Also i think this guide was well timed with the release of the PS5 version and the amount of new players who probably got tingyun from rolls. Great video as always!

Great Tingyun guide! I was looking for an updated one.

Generally, when it comes to buffers, there are slow buffers and fast buffers. Bronya is the epitome of fast buffer. She advances turn order and just plain rearranges it to get more turns. This is powerful, but it burns through skill points and buff duration. Tingyun, by comparison, is one of the best slow teams. In some teams, it can be a disadvantage when your main damage dealer actually gets a turn. Clara is a prime example of this- most of her damage comes from follow ups. You barely even care if she gets a turn, and her turn getting delayed can be a good thing since it means buffs last longer for her. Add Tingyun as a battery, and she can consistently ult and dish out powerful counters. Tingyun is also highly skill point efficient, so she pairs well wtih characters like Imbibitor lunae or qingque.

16:40 Tingyun works quite well in a kafka/sampo team actually. She will always buff kafka, which acts as the main dps that procs sampo's dot. Getting a higher ult uptime on kafka indirectly buffs sampo too as he contributes a large portion of the dot in kafka's ult. No problem with a tingyun in that comp.

Clara and Tingyun is actually really great since she doesn't actually lose buffs with follow ups, if you have a fast Tingyun with a 3 turn rotation Clara can have an almost infinite damage buff with extremely fast ult recharge. Clara can actually use Yokong's buffs way more times than any other character because of that, if you still have them when the turns of the enemies starts, she will be using them until a party member has a turn. Clara doesn't have an advance forward mechanic in her kit. Edit: unless if for some reason you went out of your way to give her speed, but even then she would still consume buffs like any other character.

From what I've seen of Auto-battle Tingyun, she seems to target Hunt or Destruction paths with her skill and ult over any other path, though she will default to herself if they're already buffed.

OOT but... at the very end where there's the profile and video cards, seeing your face near to pela's face is funny XD you looks so similar :P

Tingyun with high aggro used to be a meme…it’s slowly becoming a fact. Show us the real aggro figure on Tingyun, Hoyo! We need closure!

I personally use Tingyun with the Hackerspace 4 piece set and the Spacestation ornament set. With the Carve the Moon Light Cone and ATK Body and Sphere she will not need any external ATK or substats for it to get to the high ATK trashhold for her. Also I would say SPD is the most important Stat in her kit. Benediction is linked to the character who is the target of tingyun skill. So having a extremely fast tingyun makes sure Tingyun has a turn before any other character to refresh the benediction without losing to much DpS.

Not playing HSR any more, but I like watching Sevy's videos.

I started recently. I did buy some summons early before I started playing the story because I like the designs. I got her e6 with the pulls I had. I can’t imagine not having her at all since I have had her as my first pulled 4 star haha.

does the no stack in traversing hackerspace apply to all circumstance such as two characters having the same set and getting their ult up so does the effect not stack or is it just limited to the character when they consecutively got their ult up and the effect won't stack?

Actually this is a blessing for me, I played since release, got her on day 2 and she still chills unbuilt at lvl 40

For relics I've also been using 4 piece of the wind set for advance forward while also using s5 dance. Wouldn't that be better than 4 piece hackerspace?

I use a 2pc/2pc of musk/withering with Atk/spd/atk/err ageless with dance x3. Shes preforms quite well while getting all the stats she needs

Just started playing on console, FTP so far enjoying the game. I was rolling for Jingliu (I think) got Tingyun to E4, I want to use her but I don’t have that many characters. I’m using Natasha for heals , but just here soaking as much information, this video will come handy later when I do have a team 👍

dont underestimate tingyun's aggro curse. I litterally have lynx skill on my jingliu and she still gets attacked 2 times in a row

just started building her 2 days ago for my 2nd team Fire MC with trend of universal market, kafka, pela & tingyun, 1st team is mono quantum.

Kind of a tingyun effect, but now in genshin and hsr I am prioritizing whatever stats a support needs that their support skills scale off of as much as I can or feel necessary and then tankiness for whatever else I can especially in hsr. Like Bronya, everywhere you look recomends wind dmg orb. While she can do a decent amount of dmg from her auto compared to my other supports she isn't meant to auto as much. So she has like 230% crit dmg despite the 5% crit rate and all her pieces besides body and maybe rope will have bulk. Tingyun is a little different because she scales off of atk and that can role on all pieces. So in her case maybe er rope if you can and avoid crit and the obvious useless substats to go for bulk imo. Thankfully, her skill boosts base atk. So even tho jingliu or seele can reliably reach 4k+ atk they have a base of 1200ish. which makes it easier. Actually, you can reach 2400-2700ish with just one atk% piece. Mine has spd, atk%, def% and hp%. with muskateer and fleet. no er rope. Might not even need those atk buff sets either. She reaches like 5kish atk if you go full atk main stat investment btw. So if there is ever someone with 2500 base, you know what you gotta do.

Tingyun was among the first characters I maxed out. The only other maxed out characters are Seele and Fu Xuan (Jingliu will follow). Seele and Tingyun combo is SS++, I swear they are much better than my Jingliu + E6 Pela combo right now (I still need to finish building Jingliu). I agree auto-battle does random ally targeting, and there seems to be no rationale behind it, it just chooses whoever the AI likes, but whatever Tingyun does she does it flaw-less-ly. Must-have, must-build.

I wish they could add a feature to upgrade 3 stars lightcones to 4 star lightcones stats because a lot of them have really good effects ! This could shake up the meta if they did and make way more interesting experimentations with synergies and combos.

Hey I was wondering can I go space sealing station on tingyun because for my rope I have an error main stat.

After early game, I've had no issues with tingyun survivability with a full glass cannon attack setup. Then again, I usually use her with fu xuan or gepard(with his light cone) so it's pretty hard to get unlucky and see her die now. On another note I pulled 140 times on this banner and only got 2 eidolons for tingyun lol so depressing

another weird ai choice i’ve encountered is when using jingliu, bronya will just do a basic when jingliu is in her special mode. in the past when i used yanqing, bronya would always use her skill. if anyone else had any weird AI moments when auto battling, please tell me.

Question I have tingyun I'm a new player my team right now is I think his name is yanqing the ice swords nastasha and serval should I put tingyun in that team Or use the girl with the bow who adds a shield?

I'll have to build her but still building Bronya :)

Hi quick question does the atk boost from fleet of the ageless stack ? for example if a run 3 supports in my team which all use fleet of the ageless then will i have a combined boost of 24 percent atk boost ?

There is. A 5 start Abundance unit with AOE heal on skill and a Burst that Give energy to everyone

I like using her and put her with bronya, my team is either dan,jing,seele bronya her and gepard or fu.

Just got her on oct 11 with e4, i miss her so much😭 poor girl she didnt deserve that fate 💛🦊 and yes i got the ice sword girl with blindfold ❄👍
