Angela was unreal & robbed of her oscar. They say the hardest role to play is someone real who is still alive. Not only did she have to act while being like tina she said she could not dance & did it beautifully here. Also on this song , when her manager played it for her she hated it. So glad he made her do it bc it's such a great song. The opening music & Tina's singing its awesome. She has some really great songs private dancer , simply the best , we dont need another hero, this song , nutbush , dont wanna fight etc. She has such a powerful unique voice . Man she did all that dancing in heels. Best pair of legs at any age ever.

The late Gene Siskel said when he saw the film, he was so captivated by Angela's performance that when the real Tina Turner appears at the end, he felt it wasn't necessary because he felt he had already seen the real thing with Angela Bassett. That's pretty high praise, even though it was great to see Tina at the end, in a sense, finally completing the long journey to reclaim her destiny. Good luck to Angela with her second chance at the gold!

Angela Bassett did this Queen honors. I cried when I searched for this the day she died. She had so much life and so much energy, and she put all of that into every one of her songs, regardless of whether it was with Ike, or on her own! A true legend was lost, and she will forever live in our hearts.

❤❤❤great awesome beautiful singer, and her voice is so iconic in music next to legendary singers in the eighties, nineties and so fourth. During my years growing up with record albums I had (now on my I-Phone music App) of Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Lionel Ritchie, Cindy Lauper, Whitney Houston, Menudo, list goes on🌹🌈🥂
The late Gene Siskel said when he saw the film, he was so captivated by Angela's performance that when the real Tina Turner appears at the end, he felt it wasn't necessary because he felt he had already seen the real thing with Angela Bassett. That's pretty high praise, even though it was great to see Tina at the end, in a sense, finally completing the long journey to reclaim her destiny. Good luck to Angela with her second chance at the gold!
I still don’t understand how is that Angela Basset didn’t get an Oscar for her acting in the film.

Nossa, é impressionante a entrega da atriz Angela Bassett para interpretar a Tina 😍 Pena que ela não ganhou o Oscar (merecia ganhar), mas ganhou um Globo de Ouro merecido.
