I should have used my adventurer's race power during my first attack on the possessor! I could have flipped one of the die results of 6 to the reverse side, which would have made it a 1. Missed opportunity there... I also forgot to add the bonus damage from the Mimic and the Watcher. HAHA!

Also forgot the food you get from the dark rats - that 1hp would've got you through the final trap! Game looks amazing though, excited for the crowd sale.

Love your artwork. It's what sold me on Gate and this game. I also really like some of the little changes you made from Iron Helm for this that not only simplify but in some ways improve it. Familiarizing yourself with both sides of the cards will really add a lot of press your luck temptation.

I just realized I just played a whole game all the way to the end of the last dungeon level doing resolution backwards. Instead of "resolving" the top card by flipping the next card, I was "exploring" or "searching" the top card by flipping it and resolving the icons on the next card, and moving the top card off the deck to skip that room and flipping the next card to search it instead. I think it works out the same mechanically, and thematically it made more sense to me since what's on the back of the card fits what you would find in that room. I'll probably just keep doing it that way.

I’m so excited to get my copy. Will probably go back and get the mat. I have the other two mats, i just couldn’t afford it at the time. Glad i can still buy it :) i love game crafter.

Jason , Looks great. Excellent design. Play mat looks good. Black and white makes it look old school, (castle) also easier to read. The comb of the monsters and hero's from the other games is great idea and helps in the design application. Expansion time, Lol. Frist things first , Keep up the hard work.

Someone probably already mentioned this, but that last round against the Dark Rats, they provide 1 food when you defeat them. Looks like a great game! :)

Hello! Just want to say I am enjoying Iron Helm Immensely. Gonna add the expansions soon. However I was only able to purchase the game as a PNP so saved myself some money because I'm from Australia and shipping costs hike up to amazing heights to get it sent here and there are no stockists anywhere in AU. I would love to continue to support your work! Planning to buy Desolate as well as I love the whole space horror vibe. Was wondering if you had any plans to release a PNP for this game as well?? I love the way this game works! The only thing I'm not crazy about is there doesn't seem to be any easy way to know what your max health and energy are, other than memorizing it or recalculate it. Since the max varies by class and race, I'm not sure how you could do it better, but it is a minor hassle.

you could use black cubes (that aren't included) to cover up the number above your maximum, so you can see the limit more obviously.

@@AlastairGames Good idea! I looked through the parts to see if there might be a flat 8mm square or disc, because that way you could put it on max and still be able to put the cube for your current health/energy on top of it, but I couldn't find anything flat that was that small.

Can the cards be sleeved and fit back in. What size?

I'm really looking forward to playing this for myself. I have a couple of questions though... 1. Are there ever going to be any more expansions to this? I was a fan of the market feature in Iron Helm. 2. What could I expect for shipping time? Thanks

Is it necessary to spend energy before an attack? Is it optional?

Just bought it, but being in Italy I have to wait for a looooong month (at least, I will add)... Can't wait that long, how can I do? :-/

You forgot to add the extra damage from the monster cards to the dice results. Or did I misread that in the rules ?

Is food required between levels? Or is strictly used as a backup source of hp/energy?

Yes, you must eat 1 food in between each level or suffer 3 damage to your health.

this game is harder than Gate it feels like, and it would be cool if it had more enemy variety. I think I would also change certain cards summoning certain enemies, to completely random instead. Same thing with looting items, should be completely random. Maybe stick some EMPTY! loot cards too, to retain that (arguably sadface) interaction.

At 9:03 how did you know you found specifically a fish?

29:18 Wouldn't you be able to use the Kroling's ability to flip one of the dice to a 1? EDIT: Has the typo on the Watcher card been addressed since this video? ("loose" instead of "lose")

I definitely could have used his power to flip the die. I missed that. It can be tough trying to play and explain at the same time and I often miss an opportunity like that. lol Yes, typos have been fixed. Thanks!
