@baddrummer the1st I'm not a pro timpani player, but a pitch pipe makes everything so much easier. For example if you are setting up for a show and you need a quick reference note.

Nowadays you can just use a smartphone on low volume held up to your ear
I have the vic firth percussion 101 study guide and i cannot figure the answer to the video..... Here is the question:Name the proper pitch range for each size timpani. Please leave a comment with the answer.

its about an Octave. but most drums comfortable range are a 6th
