It shows that people really got used to long podcasts and there is demand for that. We already have film stars at regular podcasts like Lex Friedman or Joe Rogan. Why not make a podcast series with only film stars discussing things with each other? Not like those stupid talk shows, but instead getting into serious topics as well.

Kinda like Tarantino distinguishes between 'movies' and 'films' - the former is light, maybe shallow entertainment, while the latter is more than that. I adopted that by not calling films I hold dear 'movies'. There is nothing inherently wrong with movies, but they dont last. You see them once or twice and thats enough. You may have gotten out of it what you wanted, and then its time to move on.

It’s hilarious seeing these two talk. Scorsese is talking about the scene in goodfellas with Joe Pesci and timothee responds with “that reminds me when I was in middle school”😂. Shows the difference in life experience and yet there’s so much wisdom shared between both

I think that was the only time where the conversation felt awkward. For the most part Timothee did a great job at listening and expressing his thoughts. I can even go as far as him realizing he shouldn’t have said that by his body language. He’s very observant.

I really liked this because Timmy was respectful and keenly interested in everything Martin had to say, but he was also slightly cheeky and gave back a bit, so there was a surprising equality there. Martin also didn't talk down to him. They seemed like intergenerational mates.

It’s doesn’t look like Scorsese is too interested in him. I noticed Timmy was waiting for a compliment on his performances in CBYN and Dune. But Scorsese kept a distance: “oh I know that one” is not how you refer to someone you’re excited about.

People keep saying Tim was "interrupting" Scorsese, but Scorsese doesn't respond like he's being interrupted at all. It's just a rapid-fire back-and-forth between two incredibly quick wits with youth and vigor one side, wisdom and experience on the other. Delightful to listen to.

@@EduMenaTno, cause they way my therapist signed me up to get tested for ADHD because I kept finishing her sentences. 💀 I always feel so bad too, but it feels insufferable when people don't get to the point quickly enough. But I'm working on it.

I was already a big fan of Timothée, but seeing his extremely respectful attitude towards Scorsese and his genuine interest throughout the entire conversation made me even more obsessed with him! really great job.
I love how he says “picture” instead of film or movie. It’s so simple but I love it.

It’s amazing how many doors Call Me By Your Name opened for Timothée. To think Scorsese came to know him because of that movie.

Probably due to his job. Film directing is very high-stress and high-pressure. It's like an intense exercise of the brain, 12 hours a day, for months on end with no weekend breaks.
It's hard to even keep up with how intelligent Scorcese is about filmmaking.. what a genius
You know you're at the top of your field when you get to talk like this with one of the best directors in the world. Interesting to listen to, Timothée has a great career ahead of him, of course he is already highly regarded.
Two highly intelligent people in conversation of two different generations. Incredible discussion.

This is such a great interview, I love how Chalamet’s admiration for Scorsese is really obvious in how well thought out his questions are
I love how at the beginning he says you’re supposed to be talkiiiing. And then Marty proceeds to lead the conversation 😂
Timothée Chalamet is the most incredible and talented person! He can do everything and anything! He’s funny, he’s intelligent, and very very handsome! He’s perfection 🤍 I love him and I love watching him in interviews

I can’t get over the fact that DeNiro and Scorsese basically grew up in the same neighborhood and have known each other since they were teenagers
The thing about Timotheée is that he can talk to ANYONE, and that makes him an Intelligent person.
seeing Mr. Scorsese talk about directing short narratives and frames, makes me wonder how well he would do directing and animation, where the storyboard and planning are way more in tune with the final look since there’s no coverage, every shot is designed to be exactly like it is

i think this is one of the best interview. Timothee has superbly as a presenter. No awkwardness, just engaging.

It didn’t feel like he was interrupting. It felt like two people enjoying talking to each other. They were finishing each other’s sentences. It felt like a conversation and the conversation flowed.
Absolutely love this ! Martin is such an icon & I am so thrilled to hear his train of thought. I can’t get enough of his vision & perspective. We need more of his wisdom in today’s society. 🤍
I love how they talked about NYC then and now, only in ways Native New Yorkers can talk. And I'm quite impressed with the way Timothée conducted this. Well done. He might just be the last of the Mohicans, the last of his generation of filmmakers who really have a tremendous grasp on craft and a deep curiosity about traditional, classic cinema.

I loved that movie but I think his best performance is in the king.
