Fortunately these are non-interference engines as I bought a 2001 mazda 626 with this engine and the belt slipped the first month I had it. Couldn't rev above 3k but got it replaced, no damage at all and still runs great at 98,000miles

Cam cover gasket is reusable, don't nick it
How many teeth should the timing belt for mazda etude 1.6 should be?

I bought 123rhp and it seems smaller while it's the same numbers of teeth as the old one
