Wow this song brings back memories from my teens. I found this written in my old songbook from 1988 from Trinidad!! They were cuties ❤️🌼.

can't believe this song isn't available on iTunes considering this song charted at a respectable #21 on Billboard.

At the time the song was at #53 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, seven weeks later it would peak at #21 {for 2 weeks} and it spent seventeen weeks on the Top 100... The California duo had one other Top 100 record, a covered version of Simon and Garfunkel's "Cecilia", and later in 1988 on July 24th it reached #79 {for 1 week}, it stayed on the Top 100 for six weeks...

They were one of my fav bands. They had an EP also a few years later.

They did. And it was culled from a larger work on EMI from 1990 that went unreleased called "HI-FI & Mighty." I have an advance cassette of that, right here in my desk. I found it many years ago in a used record store. The tracks that comprised the EP are all there, plus others. 13 tracks in all, including a re-recording of "Cecilia."

Awesome song. Been singing this for years and no one knows what I'm talking about. Is it me or does "Back In Time" from Back to The Future 2 (released a year after this) sound oddly a lot like this song (during the verses and pre-chorus)?

"Back In Time" was written for the original "Back To The Future" film and released in 1985. It's heard at the end credits. If anything, this song was lifting the chord progression from that, not the other way around.

Yep. But only in a limited edition. Most copies have a standard sleeve. I bought both when they were released, and still have them. I first saw them on MTV.. their video.. and bought everything they did thereafter. Apparently Warner/Reprise decided to at least give them a little push at the outset, with the cool video and poster single, mostly because of their look, I think. After the first single, they were so back-burnered. Prince and Madonna were flying high at Warners, and so many others... they were just not a priority at all. That whole album was excellent! And had some top-notch producers and management, too! Gardner Cole, Jay King, Benny Medina... all the ingredients were there for success! But Warners dropped the ball, big time!
