This video is about the host nations / cities / countries and the top countries / nations / teams as per the medals table / medals tally in each edition of Winter Olympic Games.

With the latest edition of Summer Olympic Games “2020 Summer Olympic Games Tokyo” has been successfully finished at Tokyo, Japan in 2021, and the Winter Olympic Games 2022 is going to be held in Beijing, China, then let’s have a look at the cities or countries that have hosted the Winter Olympic Games before and the cities to be hosted the competition in future (future Olympic cities) along with the top performed teams / nations / countries in each edition of the competition as per the medals table / tally of respective competition.
The first edition of the winter Olympic Games were held at Chamonix of France in 1924. Since then the events were held in each 4 years’ time until the year 1992 except 1940 and 1944 due to the second world war. After 1992 version of the winter games held in Albertville of France the next games were held in 2 years’ time in 1994 at Lillehammer of Norway to make sure that the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics are not happening in the same year and continued to held in 4 year durations again.
Beijing of China in 2022 and Milan and Cortina D'ampezzo of Italy in 2026 to be hosted the next two editions as future Winter Olympic cities. Since it is listed the top countries in each edition that you can get an idea about most successful countries and their rank in winter Olympics by medals. This video itself will give you an idea about the Countries that won most gold, silver & bronze medals in Winter Olympics and performances of countries such as United States, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, Russia, Soviet Union, India, Japan, Norway, Sweden, France, Canada, Finland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy & China in Winter Olympics over the time.

@@Metomaro If you check the statistics of the athletes of those nations and their political entities that preceded it, it will give you this count: Germany 150 gold, Russia 136, Norway 132 and USA 105. I'm jealous of all you European and North American countries who have cold climate to support every winter olympic games, whereas most of Asia,south america and Africa can't even participate in the games(much less winning) due to unfavorable climate and terrain conditions

@@coldplayfan7357 Are there no skiing places in the Andes in South America? I don't know the climate over there well but I would have thought mountains as high as in the Andes would allow for some snow and skiing even if it's just in a few places.

The US would be great in northern states so the mountains upper Midwest Minnesota Michigan you get the idea same for some of east coast but Canada and Norway are the best for winter sports

If Salt Lake City wins the bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics, then this would be so cool, because not only will this mark the return of the Winter games on American soil after 28 years, but more importantly, this would be the first time that the next host city of the Olympics in its history (for both Summer and Winter) will remain in the same country two years after the Los Angeles 2028 Summer games!

Would love to see Salt Lake City wins the right to host the 2030 Winter Olympics, I think Sapporo has the chance to host it since 1972, they originally bid to host the 2026 Winter Olympics, but they dropped out because they do not want to have the Winter Olympics held in Asia for the third straight time, so they decided to put on hold until 2030.

Paralympic list is the same as this list. The Olympics and Paralympics are always held in the same city. When a city bids, they are bidding for both events in one campaign. The Paralympics debuted in Atlanta 1996, so Atlanta and beyond hosted the Paralympics.

It's not confirmed yet. Vancouver and Sapporo are also bidding for it currently. Salt Lake is more likely to get 2034.

The Unified Team was the name used for the sports team of the former Soviet Union (except the Baltic states: Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania) at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

@@limondepernambuco8079 digamos que no tenía sentido que fueran cada 2 años ya que habían más eventos deportivos como los JJ.OO y la Eurocopa, por eso es mejor que los Juegos de Invierno sean cada 4 años, al igual que los mundiales de fútbol. Así también lo optaron el comité deportivo, ya que tendría más sentido. Por eso, yo veo que así debió iniciar el historial de los JJ. OO de Invierno.

@@brianleonellgomez8004 ya, pero todos los demás desde chamonix 24 hasta albertville 92 siguen existiendo, ademas que w34s decís sobre que eran cada 2 años, siempre fueron cada 4, los únicos que tuvieron un periodo de 2 años fue entre albertville 92 y lillehammer 94 para que los JJOO de invierno tengan más visibilidad
