Wessex was the founding house, but the kingdom of England was united in Athelstan's ruling time, so it's more accurate to place him as the first English monarch

Philip II of Spain and Mary I of England ruled together as co king and queen ( Mary ruled 1553-1558 and Philip ruled from 1554-1558 ) and also it’s spelled Elizabeth not Elisabeth

That would only be appropriate from 927 (when England was formed as a nation) to 1603 (when Scotland became part of the same monarchy), at which point the Scottish flag should appear beside the English one. Then the Union flag as it was should take over from 1707, when England and Scotland merged to become Great Britain. With the appropriate modification in 1800 to show the addition of Ireland (and in 1921 to show the departure of most of Ireland, if that had any effect on the flag). Annoyingly, Wales is not represented on the Union flag, even though it's been politically part of the kingdom of England (whilst not being part of England) since 1535.

And assuming nothing changes, the next two planned monarchs are: William V, House of Windsor George VII, House of Windsor

And they decide to keep their birth names when they ascend, Charles could’ve been King Phillip, King Arthur or King George VII, as he could’ve used any of his 4 names: Charles Phillip Arthur George William could be William V, but he could also be Arthur, Phillip or Louis. And George could be(aside from George) Alexander or Louis.

1 is depending on your views of if she should actually be counted or not. 2: Louis wouldn’t be counted a lot as a king of England and 3: they were like monarchs, because they were both from the same family

Lady Jane Grey became queen! At sweet 16! Sort of.. in a disputed status way for 9 days until beheaded by Mary the first truly, officially, nobody doubts a queen.

He’s they are missing Ælfweard who was son of Edward the Elder but died only 16 days after Edward Matilda was the daughter of Henry I and his nephew Matilda’s cousin Stephen took the throne instead but Matilda did get it back and ruled from February 1141 to December 1141 Then Henry the Young King he was son of Henry II and was kinda ruling while his dad was still alive and ruling but HTYK died before Henry II Louis VIII the Lion of France was son of Philip II Augustus of France and he was king from 1216 to 1217 after John Lackland’s terrible reign Then Jane Grey who was the cousin of Edward VI , Mary I and Elizabeth I she ruled for 9 days after Edward VI’s death but was deposed and a year later executed by Mary I

She was never recognized as Queen. It was simply a small group who claimed her Queen and it took 9 days for Mary I and her backers to have them arrested.

You got the Dynasty name wrong, for Charles the 3rd. He's actually from the House of Glucksburg! Saying he's from Windsor implies, that he's a bastard son of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd. Since he's not a bastard, we have to call him by his father's last name. Unless he adopted his own last name, like King George the 5th did. But for some reason, you waited until King Edward the 8th to apply that change. Maybe because King George the 5th, originally accepted Gotha as his last name? The point is you are wrong, & this video needs to be corrected!! Just because Queen Elisabeth the 2nd said that Windsor should stay, doesn't make it right! Just because Winston Churchill said Windsor should stay, doesn't make it right! In fact, the man is a racist... who is so out of touch with his people today. Actually if was going to have his name fashioned in Dad's name (Prince Phillip) It would be house of Battenberg or Mountbatten (British edit made) but originally he was Windsor as the British Royal family aim to promote stability and suddenly changing the name was seen as unthinkable however in 1960 it was formally changed to Mountbatten-Windsor so you are right about being wrong but isn't due to racism it was due to monarchy fearing change but eventually they did come around they just choice double barrel instead of complete change but personal Mountbatten-Windsor does have nice ring in my opinion

The Dutch have had 3 Queens regnant in a row but the current monarch King Willem-Alexander is still a member of the House of Orange-Nassau even though the direct male line of that house became extinct around 60/70 years ago when the former Queen Wilimenia died so Royal House names don't always change after a female monarch. Windsor is the name of the House or dynasty but the personal surname of Charles, Andrew, Edward and their families is or was in the case of Andrew's daughters Mountbatten-Windsor

@@thegodofimagination 1st off, why would they put their maternal (red blood) last name... hyphenated after their paternal (blue blood) last name? Only Hispanics do that! They're not Hispanic, & even tho whites & blacks do this too... they do it in reverse! So it should have been "Windsor-Glucksburg", But why should we hyphenate Dynasty names? For that implies a joint Monarchy! Also, it's a Monarchy... why should it change tradition? It defeats the purpose of the Monarchy! Change especially Constant Change = A Republic! A Non-Changing Republic = A Dictatorship! If we're going to respect the Monarchy, then it should have changed as "little" as possible... since 1660! Maybe even further back!!

@@Sunsetaren hyphenated names are pretty common for people who want to include both parents names at least here Britain hell before they changed it to Winsor is was hyphenated being. Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and that isn't 1 hyphen that is 2 lol also technically when Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip his dynasty was half dead (this does take little explaining) as Prince Philip title was Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark and while Greece has abolished there Monachy Denmark still have there's as such he needed to keep dynasty claim in case of crisis where no monarch in there direct line can be found. Also even monachys have to change it is how they survive as with institution to keep from falling apart or seem as outdated like the 1990s was time in British history where people really saw the monarchy as outdated and so quickly had to change its image and its role (I bet you can't guess what event cased it lol)
