Janis: your videos are such a joy to watch. Your heirloom pieces are so pretty, but the stories behind them are the real stars. So your paternal grandfather was more than a bit of a scoundrel? I got a laugh out of that as my paternal grandfather was the same. My grandmother divorced him and raised the 6 children as best she could. Well done to these strong southern women! ❤️❤️ (And you're still a beauty queen!)

My mother had a charm bracelet similar to yours from when my dad was stationed in Germany and they were able to do some traveling. I loved playing with all the movable parts. She passed away two years ago and I got the bracelet and love it. Such wonderful memories.

Thank you so much for sharing these treasures with us, I really enjoyed learning the histories of your treasured heirloom pieces. Its amazing how much love and sentiment we carry with these trinkets, its not so much the trinkets that we cherish but the love and history that comes with them. My best friend during high school gifted me a lovely pair of gold hoop earings with a twisted braid of gold along the hoops and I still wear them today (30+ years later). My sister in law gifted me a James Avery charm bracelet for a bridal shower gift 20 years ago and its been such fun collecting and being gifted charms for it over the years. When my grandmother passed, she had written me a letter and gifted me her engagement, wedding, and anniversary rings. They are very modest but also one of the most invaluable treasures I'll ever own.

Loved all your jewelry pieces especially the charm bracelet. They were so popular when I was in high school, I still have mine, although I don't wear it much. The space necklaces have always reminded me of Rosaries. It was great to see you again Janis, always enjoy your videos. You have such a soft and pleasant manner.

My goodness, Janis, it is obvious by your smile how much you appreciate fine, beautiful jewelry. I’m a Pearl girl myself, always have been. Wear them most everyday. Now that I’m retired I don’t have as many occasions to wear some of the jewelry I have so when I see these, of course, I want to purchase one of each but have to practice self control and be grateful for all the lovely cherished pieces I’ve been gifted through the years. Thank you for sharing. I think tomorrow I will open my safe and switch out for a few pieces that I have not been wearing as of late.

Found my favorite peacock mabe Pearl earrings and handmade silver necklaces in upcountry Maui a local artist decades ago. Found natural peacock necklace with 18K and diamonds on an adjustable 18K chain I bought in Canada. My dream necklace would be peacock baroque pearls. Mabe pearls usually have an open back exposing the shell. It’s proof that the Pearl was created by nature, as so many are fake.

My favorite and most unusual charm was a David statue. I have a station necklace like your turquoise (?) in coral. I bought it in Lawton’s Jewelers decades ago and wish I’d gotten every stone in which it was offered. Fun to wear “stacked.” Thanks for this walk down memory lane!

Iconic charm bracelet ❤

I love pearls too and really like the pearl drop earrings you featured. I have a gold charm bracelet that I started years ago and then inherited my Mothers and added some of her charms to my bracelet. However, I never see anyone wear them anymore and feel somewhat dated when I do wear mine. I wish I didn’t feel this way. I also wear mine only in the cooler months because its seems too heavy for the warm months here in Georgia. And I actually prefer pearls to diamonds. I'm always worried about cleaning my gold jewelry that has pearls on it. I'm always afraid the cleaning solution will damage the pearls.

Do they have a hue of color, pink or lilac? ? Just lov🤩❤

Well, the "station" necklace ...... I have two Edwardian necklaces identical in design. One is 18ct Gold with Turquoise and the other is 18ct Rose Gold with Pearls. The earliest of the two dates to 1910. I adore pearls, especially when set with diamonds. Your new earrings are so beautiful and elegant!

I am so happy to see a woman wear FINE jewelry! I hate this gold plated stuff.. and fake stones. It’s much better to invest in at least a real bracelet, a necklace and a right hand ring… I worked in fine jewelry and there’s just nothing like it… and if you care for it… it lasts forever… well done! ❤
