I certainly prefer the 16mm lens. Gotta see that up close stubble cutting action! Great shave as always. I've been daily shaving with the Timeless Aluminum Slant for the last few weeks and it's an absolute banger! It has a negative blade exposure with a .8mm gap and provides a nice BBS shave in two passes (WTG/ATG) with a little pick up. Zero irritation. There's no blade feel, so that might be a turn off for some.

16 mm for me Heiko. I prefer a closer view of the actual shave.and though you have a lovely shave den I'm more interested in products and shave. I have this razor and with the right blade its smooth and very effective. With some blades however the combo just doesn't worker me and I get a rougher shave. So I discontinue. I guess we're all different. It is a very nicely built classy looking razor, that said. I've been using Proraso white daily for roughly 15 years as a pre shave. It transformed my shaving then and I wouldn't be without it. All the best.

16 mm preferred. Will add the aluminum version to my collection, as I have the Titanium and SS version already. Timeless make great product and the brushes are outstanding. Preshave part of the zen for any wet shave. Two to three passes are the norm here. Keep it going, we'll done. Agree with original US, UK, Japanese, or German manufacturers. Cheers from Down-Under

Hi Heiko, you’re always improving your channel 👍🏼. In my opinion, the 16mm lens is better than the 11mm lens. I like to see the details of the razors while shaving. Alternatively, you can use the 11mm lens and zoom in on your face during the passes (similar to what’s done in the Ohio Shaves videos), but I think this would require more effort. I couldn't find where to vote the poll, but it's just my opinion. Your Sony camera looks good with both lenses, the final decision will be yours. Best regards 👋🏼

Greetings Heiko, Have just received my Timeless AL with brush. Already have a blue brush, so got the purple this time (also got a SS pineapple handle as a counterpoint to the barberpole version - both do well with decent wieght). The Al razor works well, as do the others. Well presented and machined. Gave your vids a plug to Timeless, as that's what reminded me to complete the collection. Keep them coming. Cheers, John

Hi Heiko - great presentation today: either 11 or 16 mm work for me: both lenses focus well; audio is great too. Since you seem to prefer the German Made Wilkinson Sword razor blades, decided to try them. They are excellent blades: super sharp and edge last 6 or more shaves for my medium stiff beard. Also, minimum glue spots to deal with. Bought a brick of 100 Wilkinson Sword blades for a great price. Really like Astra Platinum Green blades as well but excessive amount of glue spots to deal with.

Great shave Heiko. I have that razor and love it. A great razor for beginners. I have 5 Timeless razors and they all give me a great shave. The only problem I have with them is deciding which one to use. I may order the slim base plate for my Titanium razor in the future. I also have that brush and it is great. Have a great week. 👍

Is it as aggressive as the Rocca R96 cuz it looks a lot like one?

The Rocca is a lot more aggressive/efficient , its almost a one pass or 1+ razor like the Blackbird. The Timeless aluminum is very smooth, comfortable razor where you can easily do two or three passes without irritation. Both are great razors, but very different. The Rocca, you need to focus, the TImeless is almost auto-pilot.

Closeness of the shave result? On my own 1 through 5 scale of aggressiveness it is at a #1, but it is efficient enough to get me to a BBS shave after three passes. That is pretty much my go to standard. I don't want a razor that is super aggressive and gives me a BBS after just one pass because it will most definitely also give me razor burn or other irritations.
