I just got the new TWC modem, but my upload speed is still 50 Mbps just like always. Download speed is about double at a little over 20. Maybe they just sent the new modem, but haven't updated the infrastructure for San Antonio.

I just purchase the same internet as you and I was wondering does the modem come with a built in wireless function or do I have to purchase a netgear router to go along with the modem for wireless internet?

mohamedycoool The one they gave me does have wifi, yes. It's the DG1670A. But from my experience they might try to give you something different.

Yunior Fernandez it depends on the ISP... Time warner in Los Angeles, you need SB6183. Check with your ISP and see which modem is on the approved list. If you get your own modem, you will need to call them and tell them the MAC ID of your modem

***** I don't like it. It's good, But it becomes annoying when you want to port forward. At least for me.Cause If i try port forwarding i have to enable the firewall in the modem. And when the firewall is enabled sometimes my connection goes in and out with heavy internet usage which is annoying. So most of the time i have to keep it disabled which kills port forwarding. There use to be a setting in the motorola modems called "IP Flood Detection" that you can disable to fix that issue but it's not available in this modem. But either way its decent. It will get you your speeds. And it's stable. But if you're not into all that techy stuff, it's good and should be reliable. and it will give you access to 300MBPS if you decided to upgrade to that higher speed in the future. Hopefully this answered your question. Hopefully. Lol.
