It's Time to Model! Have you ever wondered how to add burn marks to your ScaleTrains.com GE locomotives? Well, thanks to Josh Clark of NSModeler24 on KZread, you can learn how to do it yourself with our latest how-to video. Burn marks occur when the turbo charger overheats and malfunctions, causing flames and in turn burn marks are a result of the damage along the hood of the locomotive.

Todays younger modelers are very talented
Well done and kudos to Josh for the fine work done there. Very realistic and it takes the model to a whole new level of detail in my opinion.
The prototype was really cooked. Nice job on recreating this look.

JOSH DOES GREAT WORK MODELING THOSE TOASTERS!!
Very informative. I'm going to follow this step by step on a couple of tyco shells and then start on my ST unit.

Mike, that's the perfect response I give whenever I hear someone say "Oh, I could never do that". Get an old shell (even a crappy boxcar!) and TRY IT!. Josh has amazing skills, but I'll guarantee he didn't just wake up one day with all these skills. Like everything, you gotta start somewhere - and your idea is perfect. Just show us how it comes out, next year, OK? And thanks for the soapbox, Josh and ScaleTrains.
Love these tutorials ❤️
I’m working on making an ALCo 6-axle rs-1 locomotive in HO scale, and I’m considering putting a burn mark on the side of the exhaust stack and the conductor’s side of the long hood.
great job
Planning on my buying a H1 Dash I might whether it slightly since in my time era it’s brand new
I love these videos but I could never bring myself to do this to one of mine! From the factory they have a perfect as-built sheen.
Looks really cool my man👍🏼. I love GE’s but damn do they love to have catastrophic failures! You never have to worry about putting burn marks on an EMD lol

@@Scaletrains thanks Drayton love your videos and scale trains keep up the great work
I watched the weathering video and now this. Are you cleaning your wheels afterwards? Or do you have them masked?
@Scaletrains
4 жыл бұрын
Great question. Masking the wheels beforehand is an option, however in this video the wheels were cleaned afterwards. (Sometimes masking residue can stick on the wheels, so cleaning them is often necessary even after masking). To clean, you can dampen a paper towel or cloth with rubbing alcohol and spin the locomotive wheels over it (one truck at a time), while holding it stationary. -Drayton
Burnt Pumpkin ;)
I could never do this to a scaletrains, but a KATO and Athearn yes.

We understand how it can be a little frightening, but never be afraid to practice on other models first. Thanks for watching! -Drayton

Sorry I missed the chat
B.N.S.F. locomotives are a good thing to have on Halloween.
but, can they have real flames coming out of the stack?
