Chopsticks are used only for the time we go for East Asian cuisine. But not everybody can use them, as they are hard to use. I like to use them for snacks too, to avoid getting my hands dirty lol.

I'm not Asian, but my father would not allow us to have any Chinese takeout food unless we used chopsticks exclusively, so I learned to use them as a toddler. His rationale was that if you ate an ethnic cuisine, you ate it the same way the people who made it would eat it.

The practically efficient technique of holding a pair of chopsticks 🥢 is to use the upper portion of the thumb to press a chopstick on the tip of the middle finger and use the centre portion of the same thumb to press another chopstick on the tip of the ring finger. You're capable of moving both of the two chopsticks 🥢 in question simultaneously.
