@pushpinder the Arun, Barun problem is pretty straight forward from ur own methods. If Distance is constant then Arun Barun relation (x)30 =(x-2)40 so x is 8 i.e the meet after 8 hours. So again Arun Kiranmala relation 8*30=x*60 and so x=4 hours, so Kiranmala will start 4 hours after Arun starts

@Abhineet Singh: Even I am not clear on the solution for the last question. But I had solved it in the below manner: Time taken by Ram to reach B from A = 5km/5kmph = 1 hour. Time taken by Shyam to reach from A to B = 5 km/10kmph = 1/2 hour. Since Shyam starts at 9:45, he would reach B at 10:15 and at 10 am he is just in midway i.e 2.5km from both A and B And at 10 am Ram is at B, as he started at 9 am and takes 1 hour to reach B So, required time would be 10.00 am + time taken by RAM and Shyam to meet from their current positions(x) NOW, the distance between them is 2.5 km. Their relative speed = 10+5 = 15kmph.Therefore,Time taken to meet(x) = 2.5km/15kmph = 1/6hr = 10 mins. Hence time when they meet = 10:00 am + x = 10:10 am

Last question is simple.. u have made it tough.. i solved it like this.. At 10 am ram is at B (speed is 5kmph), at 10 am Shyam is at 2.5 km from A i.e midway ( cz 10kmph by 15/60 hrz = 2.5).. Now Ram is at B , Shyam is midway. RS = 10+5 = 15 and distance = 2.5km therefore time = 2.5/15 into 60 = 10 minuts.. therefore total time for shyam = 15 minuts to reach midway + 10 minuts hence answer is 10:10 am

i think in arun, barun and kiranmala problem u have done it a complicated way... i figured it out in a simple way(Elaborated in a long form ,but during calculation its a peace of cake) since the distance travelled by all 3 of them is same (therefore distance is kept constant) thus, consider arun started at t time and since given barun started at 2 hrs after arun (therefore t-2) calculate the relationship between arun and barun keeping the distance constant distance travelled by arun = 30x t , distance travelled by barun = 40x(t-2) since distance is constant 30t=40(t-2)=>t=8 now u got the distance which is 240 .... this can be used to find the time taken by kiranmala so 240/60(d/s) which gives time = 4 hrs !! option C

Pushpinder i think you went wrong on the car question. If first car travels at 30 mph then in 3 hrs she covers 90 miles. Since Julia who has left 30 min later has to catch up , she needs to cover 90 miles in 2.5 hrs which is 36 mph

In the question of Arun,Barun and Kiranmala the easiest way what I think is that the difference between A and B is 10 km and the time taken is 2hrs , so the distance between B and K is 20km so the time taken will be double the time of 2 hrs which is 4 hrs !

That time 25 minutes is a sum of time taken by both RAM -15minutes to travel 1.25 km and Shyam-10 minutes to travel 0.8 km to meet in this time.

answer is 10.30am..... @ 10 am Ram is at Point B while Shyam is @ 2.5km from A..... @ 10.15 am Ram is @ 6.25km from A... and shyam @ point B(i.e. 5km from Point A) @10.30 am Ram is @7.5 km from A and Shyam is Also at 7.5km apart from A.... (i.e. Ram and Shyam meet each other @ 10.30 am)

@@prashantpande8199 There's a flaw in the logic. If Ram at 10:15 has travelled 6.25 from point A, it means that it has traveled 1.25 km from B. Similarly, Shyam at 10:15, Shyam has reached point B. So if you carefully observed. Shyam has reached point B at 10:15 but before 10:15 Ram must have already started back. This definitely means that they would have met before Shyam reached point B (at 10:15 am).

@@piyali1990 They actually met at 10:10am. Try the calculations again. At exactly 10:00 am, Ram is at B and moving towards A at 5kmph & Shyam is in the middle of A & B, moving towards B. So now the relative speeds add up to 15kmph and the distance to be covered is 2.5km. Therefore 2.5/15= 10 minutes. Therefore they meet at 10:10am
