Time is Truth | Howie Severino | TEDxDiliman

Howie Severino is one of the Philippines' most respected broadcast journalists. In an age when the race for news and facts is often defined by speed at the expense of accuracy, Howie - drawing on a decades long documentation of, and friendship with a young blind girl - makes a case for the virtue of slowing down, and investing time in order to truly get to the truth.
A media man for nearly three decades, Howie Severino is a co-founder of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ); served as Editor-in-Chief of GMA News Online, was on The Probe Team, before joining i-Witness, now one of the longest-running public affairs programs in the Philippines.
He graduated from Tufts University in Massachusetts with a History degree, magna cum laude, and received his master's degree from University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
He has now established himself as a leading documentary filmmaker, and has been named by the People Asia Magazine as one of the ‘Men Who Matter.”
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

"What we gain in speed, we often lose in factual accuracy" - it's subjective statement, two side of a coin but you only see one, try CRC for accuracy. Just my two cents.
