From Hubble software: the weekly chart of VIX is labeled wave 3 with a target of @23 while the daily is forecasting a wave 4 forecasting a low of @9-10. When we get a divergence like this, which chart should we act on?

I'm curious to see what Rob says, but in my mind the daily/shorter time frame is saying expect a possible spike near term but the weekly is saying it will be a short lived spike. Kind of fits because we haven't really had a sustained VIX spike since covid

Thanks Rob! When we retrace more than 61.8%, it seems like there are good odds that we are going to retrace 90 to 100%. Is that part of Elliott Wave theory or just something that I think I see?

Cycle Analysis confirms your wave 3 pattern. Correction (Wave 4) decline up to 10% is coming. Wave 5 will be into the fall. Question is, will Wave 5 end in the fall or beginning of 2025. Once this Wave 5 of a Major Wave 5 is over, expect a steep decline in the market next year.

Personally, I’ve used them and had some nice wins. It works better on QQQ and SPY as they’re less volatile than individual stocks and over time the market is usually going up.

You are still expecting a recession? Here's why I don't see it, JOLT is over 9m, payrolls must drop below 100k to indicate a shrinking economy and the last print was over 300k and I expect over 400k this month, manufacturing data is just now showing growth, it was the only weak sector so now its growing it will suck up jobs and push GDP higher, and I see strong growth next year. The banking sector looks poised to make new highs and construction and new homes and pending sales and car sales are all way too strong to see a recession, it would take a massive shock to send the market lower. TNX has been strong because of the stronger than expected economy like wage growth at 4.5%. I'm watching the 4.25% as a pivot, if it goes above then sure the markets can turn over, but there is strong resisstance at 4.20 and if it rolls over here then its a double top which is bearish for rates and the USD but bullish for equities and comodities, gold and oil....
