Yeah I used to attract a crowd when I played in arcades when I was around 10 as I could complete this game with 1 credit too. Had it for the ps1 with the gun but nothing compared to the recoil gun and large screen and sound of a good arcade machine. Really did make you feel like a "one man army" Richard Miller is still one of my favourite video game characters.

@@gaz6629 A lot of arcades still have TC4. I went to Great Yarmouth on New years day and saw it at least once, although I'm pretty sure I saw more than one. I've also seen TC4 in an arcade in the Newcastle area. I had a go on one in Great Yarmouth but the calibration was so poor I couldn't shoot anything in the bottom right corner, so I couldn't get past stage one and had to kill myself. It seems that some operators don't seem to care how well maintained their machines are.

Had this on PS1. Played it so many times I could nearly complete it blindfolded. When I turned 18 my brother took me out drinking with his uni friends at their regular hangout and this was there as an arcade machine. I ended up with a crowd around me as I smashed through this and a beer at the same time.

@@RGBtheRhinoOverwatcher High end arcade machines and high end PCs from 1994~1995 era had similar specs to the Dreamcast. IICR, the arcade board that the original Time Crisis used was pretty much the same as the Dreamcast, but the total CPU horsepower TC had was 125mhz while the DC had 200mhz. The CPUs and CPU combos exceeding 200mhz (like what PS2 style games used) weren't scene until late 1995 and were very expensive. Those took them a few years to go down in price.

This wasn’t the Sercian military, unfortunately. These guys are the Wild Dog Organisation. They are an international terrorist syndicate full of mercenaries, ex-V.S.S.E. Agents, and ”professional” assassins. I use the word “professional” in quotations because these guys don’t seem to have much advanced weaponry, and most cant seem to hit the broad side of a barn. They are all given sidearms and lead pipes, maybe a few Stoner 63s and Anti-Tank weapons, but that’s it. And they all stand out in the open like morons and wait to get shot.

The boss music against wild dog was always the highlight of the game for me. Would love to see a remastered version of the original time crisis games

No need to replace the Voice Acting, but we need remastered cutscenes where the characters moved their mouths.

I remember playing this as a kid. I was against Wild Dog, I had one life left, there was 1 second left and I had 1 bullet left and I GOT HIM. I have never felt such satisfaction beating a game like I did when I beat TIME CRISIS.

I wonder how they’re playing it, if they’re emulating this with a mouse they must be a pro to know where they’re aiming with no visible cursor or crosshair.

Time Crisis was mind-blowing to be see and play back in the day! Compared to other light-gun titles such as Virtua Cop, Lethal Enforcers and Area 51 that dominated the arcades, Time Crisis was truly unique with the cover/reload mechanic as well as the addition of the timer that added that extra layer of intensity to the gameplay. I remember playing this for the first time as a kid and getting confused that i couldn't reload the gun by shooting outside of the screen, not realising that i had to press down on the peddle!

It can't be a 90s arcade game without hilariously bad voice-acting.

You know, the voice acting in this is actually pretty good. Now, hear me out. It's still cheesy. I get that. But at least it's competent and the actors actually EMOTE! Compare that with other arcade games from the time like House of the Dead 2.

But he lost his left arm in this game. Every time he appears afterwards, you can see the permanent effect Richard had on him. So even if we never see Richard again, his legacy lives on.

So many nights in our favourite pub after work in the 90s with my mates, playing this game over and over and learning the patterns until one day we finally beat it. I was at the controls at the time. So nostalgic to see and hear it again.

I'll never forget the day when I bowled a near perfect game for my youth bowling league and immediately walked to the arcade and beat time crisis with 20 dollars worth of quarters

I still get chills hearing this music remembering a crowded arcade with a Screen undeard of huge and the long wait to play it and it was 4 Tokens!!! Nothing beats that rush.....

Wild Dog look like he is... having fun trolling the main character at the final stage. :p

I miss playing this sooo much! Definitely the best in the series. This needs to be re-released in some way, shape or form.

watching this brings back so many memories of me playing these old ps1 and 2 games on the ps 2

Me and my friends were competing like MAD back in 2002ish to get the top time in this. We had literal meetings on how to improve times, I ended up having the record at 9'32 mins. I regret not being able to take a picture at the time, it might have been an actual record.

Remember back then, arcade shooting game is actually beatable without need for continue? arcade nowadays were made with alot of *jump scare* that guarantee to hit you unless you have already memorize the pattern

@@samuraisantaclaws7785 In regard to Time Crisis, i could beat 1, 2 and 3 without continue...sure it has plenty of jump scare, but mostly are avoidable due to the hide mechanic... What i mean is new arcade shooting game...you know, those new one without any "hide" mechanic? i swear God even if you learn the pattern, you still need insane shooting reflex survive... In the case of time crisis, you can always hide first shot later...new arcade shooting game require you to shot or lose health in split second...its ridiculous.

It's rather funny that the characters have voices and when they speak, their mouths aren't even moving. ^^; But other than that, the graphics look more sharp in 60FPS and the HD effects on-screen look great! All old-school games should be remade like this.

This game deserves to be remastered for ps4/ps5

This looks too clean to be the PS1 version.

Despite how low poly this is and how bad the voice acting is, this has good animations.

I used to play this on PS1, knew where everyone was gonna pop out from.. watching this now like 24 years later and I still am prepared for them to come out of the same places

I think you are very nice in this game. I think your reflexes are nearly perfect. Those guys were attacked you so long. But you were solved well this situation. You were defeated the main boss in last moment with last life. I think this is unbelievable. Thank you for watched ourself your don't pick intelligence performance. Soldier intelligence.

The memories! would play it back to back when I had the game just for that ending song. So good!

Beyond the immaculate technical and narrative aspects, my favourite part of John Wick is exactly the way it represents the Time Crisis/rail shooter style of action, which we don't see all that often in Western works. The badass protag is a badass not because he's better-equipped or better-powered, but because he's just THAT incredibly skilled and familiar with his one trusty handgun. It's an aesthetic that comes up much more often in Japanese works like Trigun, Noir and Cowboy Bebop, and one I've loved ever since Time Crisis. (Full disclosure: this is a comment I'm mostly reusing from a John Wick vid.) edit: In fact, I think one of the greatest strengths of TC1 on an aesthetic level is its sampling and blending of Eastern and Western sensibilities: the Die Hard "action hero with ultimatum in one place" premise, the "movie trailer" attract mode with the silly action movie names, as well as the melodramatic anime bosses and pastel freeze frames, to name a few.

I'd to see this come back with today's technology

Back when Time Crisis was actually all about TIME and how quickly you can clear a stage, instead of maximising hit chains. Anyway, Thanks for sharing this!

27 years after the release of TIME CRISIS I, its still a masterpiece. It is also the ONLY ever Time Crisis game that have rechargeable time limit. Once the 60 second countdown expires, ITS GAME OVER no matter how many lives you have left.

Van Dyke Sports Center in Warren, Michigan helped me learn to one-credit TC1-4 and Crisis Zone. RIP my favorite arcade.

My Mom used to finished this game alone. I remember she's up until 12 AM just to finishing the bosses. She's not into game before but idk why this game changed her lol. I have Time Crisis II bcs my father thinks how my mom addicted to it.

this game used to cost me so much to finish when i was a kid, now i probably be able to finish with one coin
