My experience and impressions resembled yours closely. When I came across it in a store (in 2016 or so) I was so excited that I barely even checked the price. The design felt creative and thoughtful. But over time I’ve grown sort of vaguely disappointed - it came down to a bunch of these little “it’s not a big deal, but…” scenarios just like you described.

Not a huge fan of the material and this bag was just a bit small for me, but it was pretty cool to use (you get addicted to how it feels to open the magnetic flap) and quite comfortable. I miss it sometimes.

I got the bigger version of this over 6 years ago, the Clark pack. All the pockets on the front had little wiggle room and you couldn’t store bulky things in them or it wouldn’t close properly. It’s a well made bag, though i stopped using it after a couple years as the rolltop was quite a hassle to get things in and out of, but the side zipper for the laptop was neat. The Clark/Robin pack still looks quite contemporary despite being in the market for maybe almost 10years? But the material used could be improved by being lighter

Thank you, Lauren! Great review as usual. Can you do a review for the newly released Chrome Industries Hawes 26L pack?

TBH the best backpack I had in years, very solid and I got it half the price 😁

I had a backpack with that inner velcro type flap over the laptop sleeve. I just tucked the flap into the inner pocket. problem solved.
