Timber Wolf Habitat & Underground Cave Viewing in Planet Zoo | Meilin Zoo | Ep. 8

Ойындар

Planet Zoo Timber Wolf Habitat with Underground Cave Viewing Enclosure in Planet Zoo Base Game Sandbox Mode Speed Build | Meilin Zoo | Ep. 8 | In this speedbuild video we build a habitat for the Timber Wolves in our zoo right next to our domes to fill this area. Guests can see the wolves underneath the ground in a cave viewing area and also see them at two other viewing galleries on higher grounds. I really hope this habitat can inspire you guys for your own zoos. Let me know in the comments section below. Much love, DeLady

    I live in the US, and wolves and bears do sometimes share territories. They typically don’t bother each other until their food sources are scarce, or if the wolf pack is large enough, they have been known to steal bears’ kills or kill bears in rare cases. They WILL eat each other if desperate. In the Wild, their territories are massive compared to zoos, so I can’t imagine how they’d regularly react when they don’t have the space to escape each other. None of the predatory species in this game can co-exist kindly. Not many real zoos attempt it, so maybe it’s best kept out of the game.

    @@rubyfarr8831 Dude, no. It's literally impossible by natural means. Dogs and wolves can breed, but two whole different species cannot. They don't share the right genes. Also to the person who made original comment, in the wild wolves and bears do live together.. along with red foxes, cougars, and elk ofc. Wolves, and other animals, don't keep track of other species territory. So they basically always share land. And it's true that wolves and bears try to avoid fights but bears are known to steal wolf kills and will sleep on top of them to avoid sharing. If a bear stumbles on a wolf kill, 80% of the time the bear will try to steal it away and will usually get to keep it unless the wolves can run it off. Also I'm a wildlife conservationist / photographer, so I know what I'm talking about lol. You were really confusing me, because bears and wolves do share land in the wild. Animals don't keep track on other species territory. Edit: Also wolves and bears, when they see each other, usually don't fight but when it comes to taking over a kill they will. But also in spring when wolf pups and bear cubs are born, they will target each others kids in order to kill the competition early before they grow up. Bears are known to go to wolf dens and try to kill the pups when they get the chance, and when wolves see a bear cub they will also try to kill it if the opportunity arises.

    working at a zoo (Zoo Atlanta), i can tell you, guests LOVE seeing what goes on behind the scenes (especially with regular animal care and food prep) and will pay big!!! to see it. it's the one thing i think PZ didn't get right...

  • @apathyangel1

    @apathyangel1

    Yep, we took our kid to the zoo and my husband paid literally hundreds of dollars (each) for the two of them to go behind the scenes with elephants, and see how they're taken care of. And zookeepers were practically celebrities. People would follow them whenever they went to the public areas, hoping to see them feed the animals or something. I think that's part of the fun of going to a good zoo. You can enjoy the animals when you can see that they're well taken care of, and a lot of thought and effort goes into keeping them happy and healthy.

    Right? Like it makes sense for the generators and water treatment and the staff break room to be unsightly. But all the others I think should be a feature not something you hide away!

    i like how in the new update that when you cover up the behind scenes stuff, it reduces the negative impact on the guests, but i hope that PZ will go farther with the concept where seeing certain Behind scenes improve guest experience (food prep, level 1 vet, ect.) but has a negative effect on Zoo staff if the work area becomes to crowded (because no one wants a hundred eyes watching what they're doing). With that in place, you have to think more about where you place your work areas. You can get better guest experience but at the cost of worker moral.

    I will say that wolves and bears compete for food in the wild even if they don't actively hunt each other. They will fight over carcasses if their territories overlap, and also bears pick off wolf pups because they're defenseless snacks to them!

    The moment you talked about the Netherlands I had an idea. If you know Some Dutch zoo’s you’ll probably know Burger’s Zoo. In Burger’s Zoo there are 4 giant buildings with actual functioning eco-systems in them. In one of those buildings (desert) there is a mineshaft/cave you can walk through with a lot of small cages/habitats in the wall filled with creators like tarantula’s. You should try to make something like that.

    Not only that wolves and bears leave each other alone - wolves are used as "therapists" for traumatized bears. When bears are kept in waaay too small habitats, their movement will still be limited to this small area even when they're moved to a bigger habitat and have no real walls around them. It's so sad to watch. But with wolves, they (wolves) start to chase the bears in a playful way or stealing their food. So the bears are forced to break their inner walls. And with a little time they are able to enjoy their new freedom 😊

    I get that, but.. I most of the times just start building and see where I end up.. if I use anything as inspiration, I mention this, but mostly its just me building something until Im happy how it looks, and thats just all there is.. 😔 Cant really make a very interesting story about why I put that rock on the left or the right side.. I rather sometimes dont even talk at all, because I just dont know what to say 🤣.. I do this for few years now, but its still very much out of my comfort zone 🤣 so sorry for letting you down.. I guess 😳 Glad you still like it tho ❤

    @@DeLadysigner Sorry if I come as rude or entitled, that was not my intention. I was catching up with your latest videos: the Indian elephants, the pigmi hippos and this timber wolfs. I noticed that the topics didn't change much between the three videos and felt... Frustrated, haha. But that's totally on me, not you. Looking forward to the next exhibit! Keep having fun and sharing your playthroughs witj your viewers! 😁

    Not sure if I can word this properly but. how do you place an item while you're building, and change it in the construction tab? For instance. around 13:51 it looks like you placed a pillar down but changed which kind it was after the fact. I have struggles with building slow because I go through the pieces to choose the right one but always have to reposition them in the right spot every time.

    You can build around staff buildings and any building that has a negative impact on guests without giving them that impact by placing large trees around the area, when you turn on heat maps then select negative impact on guests you should see that the trees are blocking the guests from seeing it.
