TIMBER! Our Giant Oak Tree Had to be Removed!
We bought this house in part for the legacy giant trees. But sadly one of them was just too hazardous to our home and the insurance company cancelled our policy until it was removed! So guess what we did? Yup, had it taken out. It was very entertaining to watch despite the sadness.

You are so lucky that you can cut down oak trees we live in California in the San Diego area. We are not allowed to cut oak trees. Unfortunately we have about 25 on our property. I hate them. They make a mess. We did have them all thinned out very expensive, but at least we don’t have as many leaves falling anymore.

We had to get a permit. In general one can't remove them here either. But it was a danger so the permit was granted. I was of course very sad. Being from CA cutting it down was 'painful'. LOL

Damn, I was born in Charleston and I'm about as old as you. I have watched all these wild spaces turn into subdivisions. It's really sad to see these old trees get chopped down.

Agree. Even though I bought such a home. I wish they found better ways to build that didn’t remove so many. We don’t need massive lawns. Keep more trees and they help each other survive.
