In March 2015, the Lammert & Reese gravel quarry based in Bodenwerder bought the Emmerthal - Bodenwerder section of the VEE railway line which was continued via Eschershausen up to Vorwohle. The renovation of the dilapidated and overgrown track superstructure was carried out in 2017 and the first train reached the gravel plant on March 12, 2019. All three tracks in Grohnde station were preserved or restored. The gravel train is also assembled there. In the times when the gravel train doesn't occupy the tracks, Grohnde station can be used for loading wood. The company Brothers Helmecke based in Bisperode uses this opportunity and let transport windblown timber from the region to sawmills in Austria. After loading is complete, the Bombardier Traxx AC3 locomotive of “Timber Logistics and Freight Rail Bebra” 187-320 transports timber train 91206 first to Hameln and from there again through Emmerthal station to Bebra.
