    A 3 in one design! Ping pong table, workbench, bomb shelter. The big joinery really looks cool.

    Got some big framing slicks when I wanted to do my Roubo workbench. Pounding out the mortises by hand with no pre-drilling was just a blast. Talk about big chunks of wood flying out! Very enjoyable.

    That table can double as a heavy equipment component workbench. Like for small parts such as diesel engines, transmissions, and differentials.

    If you hadn't said at the beginning that it was going to be a ping pong table, I would have thought you were making a very small barn. Wood dimensions are about right 😂

    What a wonderful project for a great cause! I can't even begin to imagine what it would cost to commission someone to do this, but if you get most of your "fee" from us, then all the better. I'd watch a 15-part series, honestly. You're thoroughly entertaining.

    I realised quite quickly in my woodworking journey that I love joinery by hand but I'm not a fan of breaking down timber by hand, my bandsaw and planer/thicknesser (joiner/planer I think you'd call it) make my woodworking far more fun (and quicker). Don't feel you have to completely avoid power tools just because you're a "hand tool" channel!

    As an old-school woodworker, without a table or band saw, who uses linseed oil and wax to finish EVERYTHING, it amazes me that you use modern 2-part epoxy glue so much. You kept saying all the joints would be pegged, which makes the table more portable. Why not mechanically attach the lumber for the legs together, or use 4x4 ash, which is almost free here in the Midwest?

    He’s not talking about a removable peg, he’s talking about a drawbore mortise and tenon. It will be glued together permanently.

Stractualy is sound but im woried about condesation and creating some water inside etc., and get a problems later What are your toughts Thanks

    Since the legs are actually 2 pieces of wood glued together face to face will that keep the leg from being able to expand and contract and eventually lead to warping or splitting legs?

  • @WoodByWrightHowTo

    @WoodByWrightHowTo

    no. the joints will be drawbored that will allow the wood to move however it needs to.

    Just a question: is there a special reason for the tenons of the diagonal piece to be only three-sided, if you see what I mean? Thanks in advance!😊

  • @WoodByWrightHowTo

    @WoodByWrightHowTo

    3 ай бұрын

    If you mean how these shoulder of the tendon comes all the way to the tip of the diagonal that's just there to give it a little bit more material to work with. Because it's on an angle there's only so much solid material you can have and the more the better.

    Mortise first is when you use a mortising chisel. It has a fixed width, so the tenon has to fit the width of whatever chisel you happen to have in your toolbox.
