I'm devastated to hear that Decl has passed away. He was my favorite Russian rapper and I grew up listening to his music. Fuuuuuuck. As far as I feel, there is no Rap in Russia without him. He literally created the whole genre within that country from the age of like 8. On a related note, Ukraine has Artoym Loike. He's their first rapper and he's really good as well. Very modern sounding and he's clean. You can listen to him with your kids.

his first album was pretty much created by guys from Bad Balance, and it's really well done and catchy (i'd say the closest thing i can think of is Totally Krossed Out by Kris Kross), though you can see which western artists inspired it, and it's pretty childish (not a bad thing imo) when he cut ties with his dad, his dad tried his best to make sure he can't have a music career, using his connections to make sure no one works with his son, so for a while he had a pretty tough time (Bad B guys say fame and money hit him in the head and he was kind of a little brat at that point, so i imagine having no gigs and no money suddenly was a sobering experience) also while he had a lot of success among teenagers, he was also hated a lot and was under constant pressure by... iunno pretty much everyone else? racists hated him for doing hip-hop and his clear anti-racist messages, there was also a sharp division by style/subculture back then and you could get beat up for wearing the wrong clothes/hairstyle and listening to the wrong music. adults hated him for not conforming and every old interview (1st-2nd album era) is just everyone implying he's dumb and weird, despite his replies being pretty serious and reasonable tl;dr ok it's a longer comment than i thought it'd be, i'd really like to see that video as well

This thing killed me! We have it in Romania too and it has never occured to me that it might be foreign because "verde" literally means "green". Green tantum forte. 'Cause green wrapper. I looked it up and tantum is a name for Benzydamine HCL which is the main substance in this medicine. The company that produces it is CSC Pharmaceuticals Handels GmbH, a "family business founded in 1996 Hamburg, Germany", according to their site. Why they chose to call it "verde" still eludes me tho.

Heyy man! Glad I discovered your channel! My gf is from the russian-speaking world and I’m glad I’ve found a new way to learn more about the culture and current realities. Now, about Timati, I’ve been listening to his music for the past 2-3 years and quite frankly, I enjoy it. I’m well aware of his situation as a government bootlicker, his friendship with catless Chechnya strongman Kadyrov, his shady business deals, his propensity to sell out and his not so humble beginnings. Some of it I don’t care about. I don’t believe for example, that being born rich is a disqualifying trait for a rapper, or that his business dealings are particularly bad given that this is literally the model on which all of the modern costumer manufacturing industry is based. Even his selling out and commercials, although corny, are not out of the ordinary. Same for paying renoun rappers for featurings, its kind of the norm in the industry and is a phenomenon that happens in all international rap scenes. His political ties bordering on propaganda are more problematic of course. They point to him as a shitty human being. But it doesn’t answer to the title question of this video. Why is he the worst russian RAPPER? You have claimed multiple times throughout the video that his music, production and label members were wack but without bringing any actual artistic argument or criticism. What I perceive (with the limits of being a foreigner and not being a native russian speaker) is that his music is commercial and tends towards a mainstream appeal BUT that its good rhymes, has usually catchy beats and solid hooks and that he manages to always stay relevant to his time and what’s poppin at the moment. Other members of BlackStar that I’ve listened to and more recently kazakh pop-rapper Nazima do not seem to be lacking in talent and skills. Why are they and their music so obviously wack that you don’t even feel bothered to justify that claim? Is there something I am missing? Edit: The reason also behind my surprise is that I know there are much much much worse russian rappers (s/o my boy FACE)

@@Unsilence409 i do agree that i do like his music as another non Russian listener, and yeah his older songs do often sound similar. But recently it seems he's trying more modern rap and switching it up to various genres and styles. He does have the "persona" he plays as an obnoxious rapper but if you do pay attention to his concerts or other interactions, he doesn't act like that and often lets one of his friends take the spotlight instead. I do think that Roman could benefit from making a video on him since his style is a little more out there and he recently had coronavirus and exploited that with a song that says "sayonara sick boy" and often makes songs that top the charts with a cult like following.

@@nexoexin4171 Eldzhey is also known for dodging interview questions constantly, he might be mildly arrogant but moreso camera shy. although didn't he get the Розовое Вино music video copystriked briefly because his name wasn't first in the title? since we know that Roman thinks Eldzhey flat out sucks, i think it's unlikely he'd do a whole video about him. i also don't really think Eldzhey's brand of artistry could really fill a 10 minute video, since there's not a lot of things about him that would hit home with Westerners (or at least Roman's audience) besides "his music is cool or it's trash" what I REALLY wanna see from Roman is a Russian Rapper tier list, or even better, a video about Morgenshtern, the NEW Russian Lil Pump ;)
