    @@chinosolomon4746 100%, at the end of the day you get what you pay for. It’s human nature to want to lay blame elsewhere as a fan but it’s Tim’s life and career, no one forced him on any of his decisions from who he fights to who he hires. He ran into the elbow accidentally, Fundora didn’t cheat. Tim failed himself by cutting corners or inexperience. In boxing the unexpected happens, be prepared.

    @@brucewillis542 Did you also not listen to his own words when he said he would've stopped the fight himself? And that it was a vein that was opened and that there was no stopping it from bleeding? If you want to go with stitch, then listen to everything he said. Not just half. And whether Stitch stops the fight or someone else, the end result is the same. Can't believe you don't understand this.

  • @brucewillis542

    @@edntz Unlike you I listened to everything he said. And, I was already aware of the rule that, when there is an accidental illegal blow that causes a cut, once 4 full rounds are completed, it can go to the scorecards - which is exactly what Duran was saying. Tim won the first 2 rounds very clearly. He also mentioned that difficulty of stopping such a deep illegal cut on the scalp, but also that the cutman in Tszyu's corner did NOT do a good job of stopping/minimising the bleeding. What he's saying is that, there were things that Duran would have done differently that would have been far more effective at stopping the bleeding and allowing Tim to fight properly. As far as I can tell, you are under the impression that the illegal elbow should have stopped the fight and automatically made Fondu the winner?

  • @edntz

    @edntz

    @@brucewillis542 If you're capable of understanding english and reading comprehension, then you'd know that 1. Stitch said he would've stopped the fight. And 2. I said that it didn't matter who would've stopped the fight, because the end result is the same. Those are the facts. Now if you want to talk about how Stitch would've done a better job at treating the cut post round 4, yeah obviously. But that's not my point. Yet you failed to grasp a basic concept. Whether Stitch ends the fight, or another cornerman, it both ends the same. Therefore, whoever stops the fight in the corner, doesn't matter. As long as it gets stopped. And no, Fundora wouldn't have been declared the winner before round 4, but perhaps Tim didn't know that. So he continued fighting. Perhaps his corner didn't know that. Either way, that's on them. And has nothing to do with what i said which you replied to and failed to understand.

    Na. I think it makes the crawford fight easier to make. He'll lose some sleep and experience anger, but I think it will work out. If Fundora fights Spence, he will likely be stripped of WBO belt. And Crawford can fight Tszyu for the belt. The winners will likely fight for both belts. So it kinda worked out in a way.

I'm glad to hear you're willing to teach younger generations the ways, it's an unfortunate phenomenon that so much old wisdom is being lost in trades and artisan professions due to an unwillingness from people to pass the knowledge down - being a cutman, to me, is a combination of both of these. Your expertise should command a price that is commensurate with your expertise - how would anyone be able to be good at what they do if they don't value their own skills, as you're no doubt very aware of this. Thanks for the words in this interview, they were incredibly insightful, not just in the world of boxing, but in regards to the skilled old-boys everywhere.

    Good points by stitch. Here is something to consider though. Tim reportedly made 10 million. And launched a powerful new network that is absolutely loaded with money that being Amazon prime. He was their first high-profile Main event. And he is aware of the warrior Spirit and the entertainment value. And they just did not think of packing it in they went the other direction and thought what can we do to win this fight. It actually ended up being a good fight he lost. But I don't think his stock went too far down. I think this event would have been seen as an absolutely dismal failure had it been packed in after three rounds. I believe all of that factored in. That it wasn't just about getting a quick win but they were aware of the magnitude of the event and the network and they wanted to fight and not pack it in.

Of course he should charge premium for his services. He has earned it and a good cutman can literally save someone from losing and have their career derailed. Reminds me of when Mike Tyson got rid of his cutman vs the douglas fight because Don King wanted to save money, thinking it would be an easy fight. They didn't even bring ice.

    No doubt about it. Tim's corner looked like a bunch of amateurs. It wasn't just the cut man, though, it was his whole team. I understand Tim is a warrior, but as a team, you're supposed to have Tim's best interest.

    The fight should have been stopped and called a no contest for and accidental elbow and due to the severity and placement of the cut as it also hampered his vision with the blood getting in his eyes...and also the amount of blood lose would have zapped alot of energy aswell..that was a big disadvantage for tim

    The list goes on with fighters doing good until an accidental head butt. Tim Tszyu had no idea this could happen, and the furthest thing from his mind when he entered the ring. The incident was a strange one, whereas Tim threw a left, just a split second before the bell rang, right at exactly 7 minutes into the fight he swung a small left and like fell forward right into Fundora, who bent forward with arms bent up to protect himself as Tim for some strange reason dropped his head down as he fell forward, like a trip or off balance. It was a strange move right as the bell rang his head crashed into Fundora's midsection where his elbows were protecting him from the head coming in. Yes, I guess they could have stopped the fight, but Tim didn't know better either he wanted to fight, he even bullshitted the ref a bit so it could continue. The flip side is the people found out really how vicious Fundora is. He is a serious combatant, that actually knows his craft, and is a pure warrior, he was also banged up and hurt, but he got it on, and took control. Yes as Tim said the better man won, it was not his night.

    I don't think Tim's corner failed him. The cut was extremely deep and difficult for any cut man to control. Tim also contributed to getting himself cut too, he kept leading with his head and basically ran right into the elbow while Fundora was blocking for an anticipated overhand.
