I love how you describe target panic. Some people talk like it is some sort of disease that you need to train for hours to kick. That dwelling on it, and pressure involved with it helps nobody. Best thing is going back to work on your form, recognize mistakes that give inconsistency and excess pin movement. Then make that slow subconscious squeeze on the trigger when your pin is on that spot, and you will hit it if everything is lined up.

Going from guns to bow, I have command style shooting. I've never been consistent with any sport in my life, but it doesn't mean I can't be good. Note on target panic though, I don't understand what others go through since I haven't had that feeling. I don't know if coming to terms with not being perfect is the answer people are looking for or just doing sports for fun helps fight.

I wouldn't consider that punching. I apply steady pressure until the shot goes off while concentrating on my aim. I see punching as slamming the trigger.

yeah punching the trigger almost always results in a high right shot. Slow squeeze for the win

Kevin h . I wanna buy a Wiseguy and do the same thing. Do you own a rigid version or strap? Buckle or velcro? I am thinking about getting the rigid version with buckle. Mainly for target. Thanks.

So its punching then! Most people will not be able to shoot this way without flinching. I know I couldn't.

Every archer deals with target panic. The only real cure for it is developing a surprise release, which you can do with and index release, but commanding your release is absolutely not a good technique.
