I watched the re-runs on KCAL 9 when I was twelve and absolutely loved it! And then the Gulf War happened and it was non stop coverage. I was so pissed off!
Always enjoyed Carol Burnet’s Show. What a great thing to see her again. Brought a well needed smile and laugh. Many blessings

Another back in day program that has never been replaced, the cast were exceptional comedian actors.
Thank goodness for You Tube. Carol Burnett and the entire cast never gets old. Todays comics and entertainers just do not compare.

Carol is one and only!! When I was a teenager, Carol made me laught more then anyone in the business. I am now 70 yeard old.
Nothing has ever compared 👍🕊️😅😂😅
When I was little, I used to do the Tarzan yell in my backyard while I was playing... I loved it, and the show was THE BEST EVER! SADLY, I don't think there will EVER be one as good as this one!!!!

I almost agree, except crime was under-reported then. I was raped when I was 5, and never told anyone because that wasn't done back then. I don't like they make bs up now and make things worse, I just don't want another child to suffer actual evil being done to them. Just because it wasn't reported doesn't mean it didn't happen.

@@keithjefferson9863 it was free speech ... the content of the message that people were seemingly allowed to convey ... the stuff that was censored was gratuitous and essentially petty ... but, i thought of that as well... although I think we just weren’t aware of the important stuff that was censored back then ... in addition to the two bed and sexual content and cuss words that weren’t allowed back in the day... but the whole two bed thing was really only for a short time ... at this point the idea of uncensored is dramatically convoluted
The physical comedy, the ad libs, the dancing! Thanks to you all for giving us this; the real world disappeared for just a little while.
This shows was a staple in my family's home. Funny, silly, entertaining and launched Vicki Lawrence into the spotlight. Kudos to Carol Burnett for years of laughter, smiles and entertainment.

Tim Conway was the BEST!
They were the best! The Timing, the Shitick, the the edge of Risque. Carol, Tim, Lyle and Vikki worked hard every week, to deliver each and every time.
Carol Burnett is my favorite funny lady. Great show. Great casts. Great writers.
Tim Conway for me was the re-incarnation of Stan Laurel. One of the best ever and I miss him very much.
It has been roughly about 4 decades since I watched this show. This is real entertainment. It's simply fun to watch.
She had a way of answering questions! Love her!

The 70’s was my genra I loved the carol burnette show Tim Conway and Garvey Korman have passed on they were both so funny simpler times then wish I could go back 2 them
Carol Burnett was the best show on! Loved the live show. It was fun to watch Tim crack Carol and Harvey up and them try not to laugh….

Carol's autobiography explains the routine of the show. They would usually film the episode twice in a week. The first one would be "safe" and for TV. The second one was filmed for additional cuts and the like, and would also allow for some more improv and would allow for some of the more "racy" stuff to happen.
When I was a kid I only watched this show for Tim Conway skits.
That outfit was ahead of it’s time.

Me too!! I was sitting cross legged in front of our cabinet TV set on our shag rug carpet in the living room. (It was burgundy shag carpet). I remember her tugging on her ear and I just burst into tears 😭 It was like my best friend was moving away. I never miss an episode if they are on now

Carol's opening "monologue" is infinitely funnier than any of Johnny Carson's or anyone else. Carol just has such a natural instinct for witty quips and wisecracks, they can come so fast you might miss a few of them. "How did you get in here?" LOL I'm gonna use that one next time I don't wanna answer (personal) questions, lol.

Those were the good ole days of amazing fun and so much laughter. ..the BEST ever Carol Burnette Show skits and craziness we will never forget. Thanks to all of you and of course Carol !!!
Thank you, it took me back to my childhood home, sitting on the floor with my siblings and my dad on the sofa. I was a child for 45 minutes laughing and smiling and reminiscing on my grandparents when they were alive.
The ear tug’s meaning is something I learned while very young…and it and Carol have stayed in my heart ever since. She’s a comic genius and a glass-ceiling breaker…her comic timing and ad libs are the stuff of legend. ❤️ Her ❤️
I certainly don’t remember this episode. The burlesque routine was certainly ‘racy’ for back then!! Loved watching this show every week.

The other thing to remember is that was on broadcast television. Aside from the studio audience, everyone at home viewed it on a rather fuzzy screen, with most of the details that we see now completely obscured

I was thinking likewise. Of course today this would be tame but actually this was a bit edgy for television then. NO doubt small steps like this & pushing the boundaries of that time was instrumental in the decline of the moral standards of what was acceptable family viewing . I would like to know how much they had to deliberate on the passing of this show.

WOW. When they went into the dance routine with Vicki, some of those women were WELL over 30. I'm rather impressed that instead of ignoring women who weren't 18 years old, they acknowledged talent.
Carol Burnett and Cher had the same body measurements back then. Bob Mackie used to make costumes for both of them.

One of the funniest variety shows ever. Carol and the entire casts were brilliant. Most of today's comedies are so profane by comparison. Really missed this kind of show.
Its refreshing to see comedy where the stars don't take themselves too seriously. Carol and Chris Farley were not all that different. They would forgo their dignity for a laugh and I respect both of them for that.

The illusion of "giving up so-called dignity " didn't happen. These talented artist knew how to work in reality of being non sex symbols and not taking themselves so serious, while being serious about what they did. They had/have dignity. That's why we are all still here today !

She always had a great show! Brings back a lot of memories and good laughs!
So appreciate these full episodes. You can't even find them on the MeTV channel.

She used to have them at 10p.m each night. I am so glad they hired Tim full-time.

Yeah, the episodes on MeTV are only 15-20 minutes. It feels like they are cutting out so much! I love this!
What was great about this show is the way Carol could respond to the audience and these interactions are probably my favorite. The reruns you see on MeTV in the others this is what they cut out and you're left with a lot of boring crap sometimes
the whole family loved the show, we watched it every week, one of the best ever !!
The days of funny jokes and skits without vulgarity. I miss these days
