This fight taught me that there r more casual fans in boxing than i thought. That fight was very close and could've went to Loma as well. But people want to label this a robbery... Thats insane.

I think that’s a part of it. Another problem is announcers like Tim Bradley. I will say that the rounds Loma won were more decisive than the rounds Haney won. Still 7-5 Haney. Great fight.

1,000,000 % . They act like 116-112 is a travesty, but it’s literally 1 swing rd. Basic boxing knowledge and rule of thumb says the CHAMPION, especially the undisputed champion will get an extremely close rd🤷🏾. The official scorecard shows each judge saw the fight different or was looking for different things. There’s rds Dev clearly won that was given to Loma by the other judges like he gave the 10th to Haney. The fact of the matter is even Loma’s best rds the 10th & 11th Dev finished those rds stronger than Loma. Haney could’ve made this an easier fight by fighting off the back foot. He had tons of success when chose to do that, instead he gave the people what they wanted by choice and still gets hate. They would’ve been crying had he boxed all night to a victory. Lastly, the narrative that it was only the body shots is ridiculous unless Loma face is a lie

fight wasnt close , stop with this chit,i have been scoring fights for 50 years, so I am far from casual, 8-4 loma for fun. Boxing is fixed as all sports are.

From the jump the crowd were not fkin with Haney, he was landing some beautiful body shots and it was crickets in the crowd, soon as Loma threw a punch they all went crazy even when he hit nothing. Crowd was against Haney from the pre fight push and were with Loma for a bunch of obvious reasons including the political situation back home. To have so many people shouting robbery it utter BS. With so many calling it different right there you know it had to be a close fight.

I noticed that first go round . Loma would throw like 5-6 punch combos and only land 1 or 2 but the crowd was going crazy for him. Haney would land solid 1,2 combos in FULL and crowd would be quiet . Bias against Haney is strong

A lot of the shit Haney was throwing was missing to. Bottom line Haney is good but not great the way y’all prop him up. He better run and vacate them titles because Shakur and tank is going to embarrass him.

I didn't have to watch this fight twice to see Haney winning, no bias, no dog's in the fight, just a fan of the sweet science... I disagreed with the way the judges called certain rounds, but the unanimous decision was the right call. Even if it were judged a split decision, it still should've been a split decision for Haney. I believe everyone wanted to see Loma win, because of the way Haney acted towards him leading up to the fight, emitions were obviously high. Which is the reason why it's harder for a lot of people to accept, this and the fact that everyone roots against the "bad" guy.. And for all the new Loma fans, this isn't the first fight he's clearly lost, but felt he won. Teo beat him in a close fight as well, this fight in my opinion was easier to judge.

Same. I lost faith in Tim Bradley aftet that fight. I'm like this man needs glasses. Like the worst commentating I've ever heard In a big fight. He redeemed himself a little here but the whole robbery thing is basically his fault. When casuals watch a fight they don't know what they are watching. They are counting on the commentators to tell them what they are watching.

I rewatched it aswell and it wasn’t that hard to score Haney won without a doubt. Loma had his moments but that’s all it was moments.

1) there's at leat 4 videos on youtube with punch counters and freeze frames on all 150+ landed punches. I think people just wanted Lomachenko to win and the fact that he was more active in the rounds that he won, which is why the punch stats were in Lomachenko’s favor. You can’t say a guy won a fight because he looked better in the 5 rounds he won. Haney still won 7 of those rounds. Just because a guy got wobbled in one round doesn’t mean that guy that landed a big punch won the fight or won more rounds.

Just watch the video by Artorias Boxing on the fight, very accurate to what happened in the fight and the punches that actually landed and did not bounce off of gloves or arms, don't forget Haney's back shots. Camera's and the speed these fighters are going at is deceiving. Loma didn't just look better, he was better, betting odds kept the corrupt commission from providing Loma the win, he was the underdog and they would have heavy revenue losses if he won. Not to mention Haney is the younger fighter. People making excuses for the corrupt judging decisions will keep these turds fixing fights and making money more money off the audience and ruining fighters hard work. Not to mention turning others away from participating and viewing the sport because of corrupt decisions like this.

You can't get active for the last 30 seconds of a round that you lose, and dominate the rounds that you win, and think you won a 3 minute/12 round fight. That's just not boxing. People would rather see head shots than body blows though, so I get it. But look at Loma's face. There were definitely some face shots

Now Tim has a very good analysis. I also thought Haney lost after watching live, but after review, i felt i was unfair for Haney, and i would have protested the decision. Those judges were good man....those combinations of Loma were missing some of them, after Haney had thrown a couple of good ones. Haney clearly won the fight, Loma team wont win the appeal, i would advise them to let it lie, rather think about a rematch. I think Haney would win it also too.

Majority of the people who have rewatched the fight has the same sentiment. Haney deserves a lot of respect in general for the road he’s taken in his career and so does his father. That’s not even including this fight. The entire fight buildup was aimed at discrediting him if he wins from the beginning.

During the fight, it sounded very biased. And it could have been due to coincidence but that doesn’t negate the fact that the commentary was very Pro Loma and often times y’all were speaking during a lot of Devins work in the first half of the fight. So the fans that were watching the fight were led to believe that Loma was dominating some of those rounds that were close or that he loss

I rewatched it slowed it down and i can without a doubt say haney won 8-4. He landed more effective punches than loma did more consistently. A lot of lomas shots werent damaging he was throwing a lot of pitty pat punches to score points which he still missed a lot of those flurries he threw. He would throw 6 punches and land 1 or 2. 8-4 or 7-5 haney is fine no robbery was done here.

watch the live moneyline movement during the fight - loma was a 2 to 1 underdog ... was a 5 to 1 favorite going into the 12th. If the bookies have loma that heavy a favorite going into the last round... Haney needed a knockdown at the very least

Devin's push of Loma at the weigh-in made him a villain, the majority of the fans turned their back on him hence their reaction somehow influenced the view of many people because they reacted to everything Loma did even if he swing and miss the crowd could go crazy, however the judges could not be influenced. I'm already done with the score debate, but I like Tim's explanation of how difficult this match was to judge. If we can move on from this idea of a controversy, maybe we can start giving credit for the hard work that both guys put in. I mean, that was an immense effort from both sides to keep things going like that for 12 rounds. Such discipline. I cannot help thinking that they worked too hard, but I realise that each had a plan for minimising and maximising certain things.

Did he land body punches yes, but none were in combination. They were single shots one-offs at a time. Aren't body punches supposed to zap energy later in the fight when Loma was clearly aggressor and winning later rounds? There was no clear winner who dominated the fight. I did only see one person close to being put to sleep that night though. Was a draw.

I agree with every single word he said... I can't believe it 😂😂 people watch fights with their ears and their hearts, watch it with the volume off and see the difference

Good call tim. I only saw the fight once, but i saw a very close fight with either guy winning. I would be ok with Haney getting the edge being champ. I preferred a split decision to indicate the closeness of the fight. The judge that gave haney the 10th round could not have been paying attention, and that I believe is cause for a lawsuit. Judges have to take their jobs more seriously, as their decisions effect fighters incomes.

Y’all were caught up in the hype. Devin went to work early while Loma came on strong at the end of the fight. Devin was way out in front by then.

@@jegzzs Loma didn’t press Haney until in the later rounds. Where was Loma the first 6 rounds? Devin went to work early and did more than Loma. Loma waited too late and tried to win the fight in the last few rounds. Don’t work like that.

I initially thought Loma had the edge right after the fight was over, but after watching again, there were only a few founds Loma decisively won, and that’s facts. Loma was on defense most of the fight with spurts here and there. Loma seemed to have only pressed the fight in the 4th quarter, while on defense 1st-3rd quarters.

How you didn't see that in the first watch loma had a few shot to the head like literally 5 or 7

Even on the under card fights they only talked about Loma, so when that fight started, the commentating just kept talking while Devin was scoring and oooh'n and ahhh'n when Loma would throw a punch, that got a lot of folks confused thinking it was Loma winning round after round when it was Dev who was winning them.🔥

I don’t think ppl realize how good a fight this was. Technically beautiful.

You got to BEAT the champ and that CLEARLY DID NOT HAPPEN. Good technical fight

There's a lot of "casual fans" that base their outcomes on bias and emotions. Most have no idea of how to score a fight. Anyone that goes back and watch the fight, even with not knowing how to score a fight, one can just decide who won each individual round, without the math. After re-watching, you will see that this was a easy victory for Devin.

You gotta be in an alternate reality or something. Being very generous towards Haney gets you 7-5 for him but in no way was it easy. Most rounds were dead even and the rounds that weren’t went for Loma.

Great interview, probably the best I have watched so far. My father was an amateur boxers in the 1960’s and now my grandson is in his third year of boxing so I have been a Boxing fan for many decades. I watched most all the professional match ups. The fight on Saturday was a great close fight. My son and grandson was there in person sitting about 10 rolls back on Loma side. I too have watched the match up multiple times. I feel both fighters had their shine moments. But, when counting their % of landed punches per round Loma landed 2 to 1. When taking all the scoring factors my score was Loma 7 to 5. I thought Loma won but thought at the very least it would be a draw. The Boxing commission need to address this inconsistency and irregularities in their judges though, or they are going to lose the fan base that pays to go see in person, watch on pay for view and buy the merchandise. Even if we are biased for one Boxer over another, those of us who follow and support the sport know enough when a fight is judged incorrectly. At the higher levels of Boxing the level of incorruptible judges needs to match what the viewers are being ask to pay to watch the match ups. I feel both Boxers gave it their all, did a great fight. Neither have anything to regret or be ashamed of, they fought their fight and did their part. The judges on the other hand has forever tarnish the results of this fight, and several others earlier this year. When there is a clear wrong score in round 10, you have to question is the judges taking bribes or are they really that incompetent? When these Boxing teams prepare and invest so much of themself in the rings there should be no question that the judges are dependable and reliable enough to score unbiased and correctly. I know if I was a international Boxer there would be no way I would ever accept a Boxing match up in Vegas ever again because in recent years the scoring has been clearly wrong and outcome is biased. This problem in judging and scoring needs to get fixed to save the integrity of the Boxing Sport.

The crowd scored this fight & the announcers & you know who they had winning. Close fight but I had Haney edging this fight but, I'd love to see a rematch.

I honestly can't see it going in favor of Loma. I notice the crowd erupting when Loma would throw his combos... he would only land 1 or two punches in that combo. Haney worked well off his back foot earlier in the fight. Loma had to adjust to punishment (body shots and counters), Haney did not. It's obvious that Haney worked Lomas face, we saw that in the post-fight interviews, and we saw the bodyshots landing, and we saw Loma having to make adjustments due to that punishment! Haney won!

A lot of the marks on Loma face was from the inside of Haneys gloves, done during the clinching. Not once did ref say anything. If they have a rematch what’s the chances of a Ukrainian ref & Ukrainian judges

Two of the best to do it in a close fight. Devin showed he's got alot of room to improve but he's ready for the true top level. I haven't seen one person say after a rewatch "at first I thought Haney won the fight but after rewatch Loma definitely won." Instead it's "I thought Loma won 7-5 but after rewatch Haney edged it," or "At first I thought Haney won 7-5 but after rewatch Haney won 8-4 or 9-3."

Back in my day. You had to beat the Champion. Without a doubt. This fight did not meet that criteria. Devin won the fight. Any doubt should alway's go to the Champ. What is sad about this is after the fight is over and they announce the winner. They boo the kid. This to me is shameful. Devin laid it all out on the line and the poor kid gets booed. As stated before, the commentary team and crowd can sway viewers mindsets. That's why fans should watch without volume if they are scoring the fight.

Wasn’t he hating on Devin Haney the whole broadcast tho ?

Couldnt have came back with a better approach. I told many the same thing,, that when they rewatch the fight no audio, they gon see Haney really win by very close split decision in all honest opinion. i had him 7-5, and i kinda was lookin for loma to win based on his good role in the story on the cool. Other than that, they gave us a fiyah one to rewatch and appreciate. Good stuff for Devin 👑!!

I’m not a fan of both fighters but at the end of the 12 rounds I knew Haney won, but I won’t mind if they score it draw but calling it robbery is a pure joke …

I just don't understand how people are getting that when we all saw Loma snapping haneys head back in the championship rounds never saw that happen the other way around even in haneys most successful rounds shit is crazy

Tim has to be honest... he was biased and favoring Loma. Most likely influenced by the crowd. Still love him as an analyst and the passion he brings. Just be better going forward.

I think he was influenced by the crowd which i dont blame him that much i mean that crowd would cheer loud even if loma missed a flurry of punches. Its also hard to see what really is landing live because you are watching the fight from one angle the entire time instead of multiple like tv shows.

He picked Haney to win pre-fight, in every interview. How do you KNOW he was biased based on the crowd? He's a PRO, even Andre Ward gave similar commentary, come on man. Fight was a draw. Tough close fight.

The crowd doenst hear the telecast. I was there in person and all of the haney fans around me left early cuz they thought he lost. The ones staying around were saying he needed a knockout in the 12th

My friend and co-worker who’s a sort-of-retired boxer, said on his second watch he saw Loma was blocking a lot of those body shots in the later rounds. I’ve got to watch it again myself, like a judge would…. I still say Loma lost the belts by not coming out blazing in round 12. I scored it a draw watching as a fan, but thus Haney keeps the belts anyway.

Agreed, very tactical and enjoyable I really would like them to go at it again, it would be an even bigger event.

I rewatched it too, i scored 7-5 haney. Loma had some rounds where he threw combos but a good majority of the shots either missed or were blocked. Also, in moments where Loma did score a good punch, Haney had a response back. Rounds 10 + 11 were 100% all Loma, all he needed was 1 more round like those and then I think people would be justified in calling it a robbery. Besides that, Haney did really well & deserved the win.

Watching it live, I thought Dev won 7-5. Them body shots were lifting Loma to tippy toes, stopping him dead on his tracks! Biggest Loma fan too! 💪🏾😢

I feel he’ll flat out beat loma in the rematch. Rematch don’t usually fair well for the fighter that feels they were robbed. Wilder for instance. Second fight with fury left no question. Floyd in all his rematches. Hell Haney against Kambosas. Haney now knows what Loma brings, felt his power, and he’s a smart enough fighter to come with a different plan in the next fight. I thinks it’s in Lomas best interest to move on.

Right. Ward had to check him a few times. Tim and Tess were ridiculous. I had to turn the volume off to watch the fight.

It was a draw if not a robbery because Devin did not do anything we thought he was going to do & got exposed. Had Loma had 1 knockdown y’all would be crying about how Devin lost but he was literally wobbled 3 times to lomas 0. Loma also outlander him but 🤷🏽ok.

​@@goated3285 You can't use draw and robbery in the same sentence. I had it as a draw too. And yes Loma outlanded Haney but it was only by a few punches and most of those actually came in the 11th round. While Haney was more accurate by 5% overall but in round 11 Loma was more accurate by like 20% or more. That's why I had it as a draw.

6:00 i personally called it 7-5 for Haney, but just like you said Tim, there were alot of swing rounds that could've gone either way. so you cant be mad at anyones assessment. Different things move different people when it come to their judgments.

everyone claiming robbery immediately after the fight was turning up, getting their third plate of food and already downed 10 mixed drinks until they really started watching the fight from round 8 till the end

I watched the fight again yesterday and this morning without sound, Devin Haney won a close decision, I had the same score all 3 times, 7-5 for Devin Haney, Most people had Devin losing before Devin entered the ring, No matter what Devin did Saturday night, Devin would not get the credit he deserves for this fight, If Devin beat Loma clearly every round, People would have said Devin was suppose to beat a 35yr old Lomachenko, Give that young man the credit he deserves.

I had Haney winning but I'd LOVE for them to run it back, Devin could've fought a different style & it would've been worse for Loma. It was a GREAT fight despite our disagreements.
