Watching this by a welcome, random pop-up. Never even heard of Birkin or that Rowan A had made this superb series. Thanks!

It's very strange that there has been little interest in this video over the years and just recently there has been a flurry of interest. Presumably as a result of this pop up.

Amazing performance by Rowan Atkinson! It's a shame he's not had a chance to do many serious roles. He's done so well in his recent Maigret work too :)

The Bently drivers group took vintage Bentleys of Tim (Boy) Berkin time to the Lotus factory and test track in Norfolk for a promotion photoshoot. They were told to follow the new (at the time) Racing Saloon as they would not be able to keep up. After a short time, the old Blowers were lapping the New Flash Lotus saloon

In those days Chaps and Chapets used to race high-performance road cars to various country mansions for a Bottle of Vintage Champagne. My Grandfather was a Metropolitan police sergeant tasked to stop them. Happy to say he failed every time.

I ha ve never seen this before. Excellent all 'round and particularly Rowan Atkinson. My mother went to Brooklands College in the 1950s...and I took a spin in an old car around what's left of the Brooklands track in 1992.

fun fact Micky Burn who is doing the voice-over had an amazing life in WW2 and after too highly recommend find out about him plus the man who did the dramatisation was involved with James Hunt

Had to get used to see a serious Rowan Atkinson. Was waiting for a gag in the beginning, but got to appreciate Rowan in a serious roll and the film. Fun fact: W.O Bentley was portrayed by Gavin Richards, capitano Bertorelli in ‘Allo, Allo’. Burn was portrayed by Crispin Bonham Carter, third cousin to Helen Bonham Carter.

9:35 And his trousers are faultlessly white.
No one plays suave as Rowan Atkinson :D
Rowan should have done a lot more 'straight ' acting, a talent untapped?
People only perceive Atkinson as a clown because he played one for so long so well. If he had stuck to dramatic roles no matter what many of his less comedic roles would have gone over very differently. Now his face is associated with a clowns by majority of the people on this earth. That is his legacy and burden.
@anthonywbelcher

May be so, but it's his rubbery face and facial expressions that made him famous. I agree he can and should play serious roles. However, I think that would have been a longer and more difficult road to stardom.
