U can use pieces of rebar as treads to. Works great
Maybe could have made a removable gripper that fit in the stake holes. Then if they not needed they can be taken off and have a nice flat surface again.
I just put expanded metal on mine , bolted it so I can take it off when winching things without wheels
Since you're in Texas and have no snow, a bit of paint and a salt Shaker of sand would be easier and work just fine. Paint the area, shake sand all over it evenly, let dry, remove excess sand, instant non-skid, marine approved.

The best way to do it is to paint, apply sand, then paint over it again when it dries.
That’s cool. I welded some large 2” expansion on mine I had worked great and paint is just gonna wear off over time anyway.
Great job
To save yourself a crap load of work just apply, some heavy duty adhesive non skid tape to the metal. Like you used to have n your skateboard. Works fantastic and will last years. Even with a track machine. When it wears out just replace it. Takes 10 miles per side and less than $40.

I saw this before but I just realized you invented a new word. Grippyness. Haha. That’s a good one.
Agree with other commenters, either sand in paint or Rhino liner.
So you didn't buy a winch with a remote that you could pull your equipment up while winching it up. I think Rustoleum Epoxy paint with sand helps remove the slippery ness, especially with frost. And you don't have to replace your deck every 6 years with the sun.
They call traction bars
i like it forget the haters
Expanded metal ?

That would work but whats wrong with what he just did?
Alot of work for nothing. Just lay down a strip of expanded metal. It works great!
Thinking Rhino liner would be the easiest solution. 🤔

That exactly what I was thinking I would have tried bed liner before I went through all that trouble of welding.
skateboard grip tape! lol
Grip tape
Has anyone seen a single video of something this gentleman has purchased, that he didn't complain about...or didn't decide to modify in some way, because he's a better engineer than everyone else on the planet??🤣🤣🤣🤣

Not defending him in any way. But, adding the treads to aid in traction isn’t a “I know better than the manufacturer” option. It’s a “I want this or that on my trailer”. By the way. Engineers and manufacturers gutters 99.8 percent of the time do things as cost savings and making assembly more streamlined. Have you ever worked on a modern car? That should explain things. With trailers I’m in the process of modifying one now. Adding extra D rings, tool box, spare tire mount and hidden chain storage. The total cost to build was less than $200.00 because I have the tools and abilities. I purchased the trailer extremely cheap because it was in need of repair and tires. Trailer will be very nice looking and useful with total cost to me of less than $1000 and if I purchased new with the extras it would be over 8 grand.
There is anti slip tape and paint you could have used instead.

tape and paint are the 2 most common attempts people try BEFORE doing it right like Chuckie just did, LOL
