Till the Rivers All Run Dry - The Petersens (LIVE)

One of our favorite love songs! Our grandpa had a cassette mixed tape in his old red pickup truck and Don Williams' "Till the Rivers All Run Dry" was one of the songs we heard a lot in the rotation. It's a stunning melody and the harmonies from Katie and Matt make it a joy to sing.
With Julianne being a full-time college student, we are just thrilled she has the time to come home and learn the mandolin part! Hopefully this summer she will have more time to step back in on vocals :)

►LYRICS - Till the Rivers All Run Dry
Till the rivers all run dry
Till the sun falls from the sky
Till life on earth is through
I'll be needing you
I know sometimes you may wonder
From little things you say and do
But there's no need for you to wonder
If I need you, 'cause I need you
Till the rivers all run dry
Till the sun falls from the sky
Till life on earth is through
I'll be needing you
Too many times I don't tell you
Too many things get in the way
And even though sometimes I hurt you
Still you show me, in every way
Till the rivers all run dry
Till the sun falls from the sky
Till life on earth is through
I'll be needing you
Till life on earth is through
I'll be needing you

When you are not singing, I love how you look at your family with such warmth. You truly bring a joy to us when we watch you. God really speaks through you and your family. Lucy, I was thinking the same thing. In physics, the “buzz” is called beat frequency. When two frequencies are close, especially with the same tonality you get when family members sing, you hear pulses when the sound waves overlap. The number of pulses per second is based on the difference in frequencies of the two notes. I love hearing that in harmony singing!

If I ever again hear this song performed without the chime of the dobro at the beginning of verse 2, I will declare the performance incomplete. Whoever arranged this song to include that small but special harmonic made a good choice. Second and third plays had me listening for that inclusion.

@@joycesmith8299 You are very welcome! For me, putting music out's half the story, the other half is removing every barrier so it's immersive. I added your 'chime' into the captions, it's a beautiful detail!

Vero, ho già paragonato Emmett a The Edge degli U2 accidenti non mi ricordo come si chiama, comunque entrambi con i loro strumenti chitarra elettrica e resofonica ti fanno sentire il Paradiso. Ciao dall'Italia.

I love so many different types of music, mostly far different from this. But even when I accidentally click on a The Peterson's video and the harmonies start, I can't leave, I have to listen all the way through. This takes me away, it lifts me to a place where there's nothing but the power of acoustic heartfelt melodic sweetness. The closest thing I can match it to is the best work by The Chicks. And that's an incredibly high compliment.

Great harmonies. Little River Bands, "Its a long way there" has great harmonies and instrumentals. A Petersens blue grass version of a Australian classic would be unbelievable. A KZread live concert #6 please 🙏.

"Till the Rivers All Run Dry" ist ein Lied des amerikanischen Country-Music-Künstlers Don Williams, der es gemeinsam mit Wayland Holyfield geschrieben hat. Er wurde im Dezember 1975 als erste Single aus dem Album Harmony veröffentlicht. Der Song war Williams' vierte Nummer eins in den Country-Charts. Die Single blieb eine Woche lang auf Platz eins und hielt sich insgesamt zwölf Wochen in den Country-Charts. Text „Bis die Flüsse alle versiegen 'Till the rivers all run dry „Bis die Sonne vom Himmel fällt 'Till the sun falls from the sky „Bis das Leben auf der Erde vorbei ist 'Till life on earth is through Ich werde dich brauchen I'll be needing you Ich weiß, dass du dich manchmal fragst I know sometimes you may wonder Von kleinen Dingen, die ich sage und tue From little things I say and do Aber du brauchst dich nicht zu wundern But there's no need for you to wonder Wenn ich dich brauche If I need you Denn ich werde dich brauchen 'Cause I'll need you „Bis die Flüsse alle versiegen 'Till the rivers all run dry „Bis die Sonne vom Himmel fällt 'Till the sun falls from the sky „Bis das Leben auf der Erde vorbei ist 'Till life on earth is through Ich werde dich brauchen I'll be needing you --- Instrumental --- --- Instrumental --- Zu oft sage ich es dir nicht Too many times I don't tell you Zu viele Dinge stehen im Weg Too many things get in the way Und obwohl ich dich manchmal verletzt habe And even though sometimes I hurt you Du zeigst es mir trotzdem Still you show me In jeder Weise In every way „Bis die Flüsse alle versiegen 'Till the rivers all run dry „Bis die Sonne vom Himmel fällt 'Till the sun falls from the sky „Bis das Leben auf der Erde vorbei ist 'Till life on earth is through Ich werde dich brauchen I'll be needing you Songwriter: Wayland Holyfield / Don Williams
