I actually saw this perfomance live on BBC in 1967 when I was 12 YO, living in England. Always loved the Kinks. We watched Top of the Pops every week and they had all the great bands on the program playing their hits. The Kinks, Hendrix, Hollies, Herman's Hermits, The Beatles, Stones, Procal Harum, Traffic, Pink Floyd. Everybody was on Top of the Pops. It was amazing! Unfortunately, my Dad was in Vietnam that year. It was a tough but all of the outstanding music in 67 made things just a little easier. Fortunately, Dad came home at the end of the year.

Never heard this song but it is electrifying. The intro riff is incredible and from their the song takes off. Dave's guitar playing is the best of The Kinks. Glad Dave is still with us and doing well after his stroke. Ray's songwriting is superb! The Kinks have been around so long like the Stones but the difference is that Ray and Dave keep coming up with new music that make the band fresh. They don't rely on their 60s material solely.

In a documentary on metal, in the pre metal episode, Dave is interviewed. He said he heard some Ventures song that influenced his block , chunky chords sound. Have Rumble on CD. Nothing in music is made in a vacuum from other artists. Link needs to be mentioned, but I hear Rumble more in Pete’s chording than Dave’s. Although Pete said I Can’t Explain can’t be beat for Kinks copying in Rolling Stone when reviewing Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy. Seen Dave live 8 times, Pete 5 times.

totally great. to me they started punk, heavy metal, power rock, all that, and then went on to a lot else. Albums like 68's "Kinks are the village green preservation society " has some amazing stuff on it.......they are now more polished, of course, but I admit the less distorted original was the main deal, sometimes more is less. I don't know if this is true but in the 60's the rumor was they punched holes in their amp speakers to get more distortion. Didn't have all the pedals and such then.

Oh man! I've been listening to this song for what… 54 years now, and only NOW did I realize that the lyrics aren't "Falling 'Till the End of the Day". Talk about a long distance mondegreen!
The Kinks created a New type of rock. They áre in top and the rest at their feet. God bless The Kinks!!!!!
The grand dads of the power riff. Also, their particular type of songs were able to exemplify the power riffs better than almost every band of their time.
My favorite Kinks song. Loved it first time I heard it. Love every version I've ever heard. I guess I' m a proud Kinks fan. Thanks for your channel and sharing.

Best Rockband ever!!!!!!!
Classic riff, let's hear it one more time!
oh absolutely fantastic
Never heard this song but it is electrifying. The intro riff is incredible and from their the song takes off. Dave's guitar playing is the best of The Kinks. Glad Dave is still with us and doing well after his stroke. Ray's songwriting is superb! The Kinks have been around so long like the Stones but the difference is that Ray and Dave keep coming up with new music that make the band fresh. They don't rely on their 60s material solely.
Fantastic live performance sound is awesome
Go the KINKS. No one touched them - no one, when they were in this mood.
Legendarios
the Kinks are the Kings oh yes.............
Jesus top shelf song. Crying now
Not many bands go out at the top of their game, this is one of them
Takes me back. Photographed this gig and the festival that year for the Bath Chronicle. Just dug out all the old B&W negatives.
The Kinks on the 1983 tour was the first concert I ever attended. My 8th grade teacher took me n my buds. So awesome!
I totally agree, they were ahead their time
Carnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn the Kinks. Best band on the Planet!
A really great song with a kicker of a sentiment in the last quiet verse from Ray Davies
Kinks the Kings!!!

"Possibly" the best song ever written. What don't you like??????????????????????
My favorite Kinks song. Rock on!
Archetypal of SO many aspects of rock!!!!!
David, you're awesome, thanks for the uploads❤
Did the Kinks invent the use of power chords cause they've been using them since '64 ;)

Link Wray likely invented the power chord in the 1950s with his hit Rumble. Love the Kinks though.

Wonderful band...
Take It, Kinks😎😎😎😎😎😍💚🎵💙🎶💚🎵💙🎶😎🤗😍✔️
now we're talkin !
KINKS!!!!!!!
Genios!!!!!
Great!!!
The Kinks rule !!!!
Thank you very much, Pelacanyes. 👊
The Kinks are not for everybody else...'cause "I'm not like everybody else".
My favorite band Forever
A lesson in how to blast the years away . Thirty years after the original band . It just goes to prove that rock and roll never dies .
God save the Kinks!❤️
brilliant.....
Truly, in a league of their own……
totally great. to me they started punk, heavy metal, power rock, all that, and then went on to a lot else. Didn't have all the pedals and such then.

they partied on stage , for sure Dave was often drunk too .
THE KINKS ABSOLUTEDLY BRILLIANT.
Wow, my favourite Kinks track.
Mighty!
Clap for the Great Sir Ray Davies !
Stones 😣, Beatles 😣, The kinks 👏 👏 👏

For moi, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, and The Who.
The version from the album The Live Kinks is my number three song of all time. This is a great version here, but it was always better when Dave’s high harmony on the word “morning” would be much louder. To me, that was always the apex of the song.
I believe this was the Jools Holland New Years Eve Bash.
These boys rock🎉
Looking at this today it's like the Kinks had anticipated the passion and energy of punk, only more tuneful.
Probably the first 45 that I ever bought. The Kinks were Heavy Metal long before Anyone. Van Halen played "You Really Got Me" and "Where have all the good times gone". Destroyer All the Day and All of the Night, Sunny Afternoon, Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Tired of waiting for you. Yes I hated the song Lola, but they beat out Bowie and most Punks on the subject, Hell they were the Kinks!!
This cheerful song was the opening number for their set in the early days.
Do not understand why Dave didn't perform or release his excellencies, dominances as a sololist ? ... " he has everything " !!! .. his voice ,his stunning guitar riffs and other essences... to be more famous levels in his musician career . ( His accents sometimes i think of Bob Dylan's and Eric Clapton's ... quite similar style )

Who knew Elon Musk played lead guitar for the Kinks. This guy does it all!
Saw them about 20 times. This is the opening song about the first 12 shows.
Kool as hell!
