An extradition treaty is not what you think it is. Legally, any country can request another country to detain and extradite someone for a crime, regardless of a treaty being in place. The second country can refuse or agree at their discretion and if they do decide to agree, must follow their own laws regarding such an act. An extradition treaty simply provides a set framework at that point to expedite the actual extradition process. It is not a "you MUST turn over this person immediately because we say so" situation as doing so is a violation of a nation's sovereign rights. In fact, doing so can result in said treaty being revoked. The UAE representative can tell the UK one to pound sand and there's little that can be done about it.

The issue with that is that in most parts of the world if you apologize then you're essentially admitting fault, even though he is guilty I'm sure, legally if he can avoid consequences I'm sure he will, and if he were to actually apologize it would put him at risk of legal action as he essentially admitted to doing it because he apologized. That's why for as much as I have a lot of issues with my home country and think it's going to absolute shit, having the "Apology Act" is a massive W, basically it's just a law that makes it so apologizing for something doesn't constitute an admission of guilt, so for example if you and I get into a fender bender, and it's ambiguous who causes it (say it's both of our faults) well when I get out of my car and go check that you're okay and I end up saying I'm sorry because I feel bad, and it's just another way of offering sympathy essentially, but me saying sorry won't automatically mean that I'm in the wrong, people also often apologize for situations they feel sorry happened. Eg if there's a kid in the backseat of one of our vehicles and he or she unfortunately passes away in the accident, saying I'm sorry as In "Oh my god I'm so sorry this happened" is more me saying I wish this never happened while also expressing sympathy over the fact something extremely negative happened. TL;DR: The "Apology Act" makes apologizing not constitute an admission of guilt, meaning people are allowed to express remorse through apologize for situations without the fear of legal consequences for doing so.

Glad nobody died over this stupidity this time at least. Do you know what sucks about these supercars? They are a magnificent feat, an engineering marvel, developed by specialists iterating and innovating over years and years to make these highly specialized powerful machines. And when you finally see the result of their work, the triumph of their labors on the road, our first thought isn't, "Oh what a cool car," it's "I need to be on guard because lord knows what coked out trust fund baby is whipping his dad's car around the highway 50+ over the speed limit."

  • @joeycampbell940

The thing the engineers hate more than anything is the people who baby these cars and treat them as display pieces. Treating these vehicles the way you specifically think is right is the most offensive thing you can do to the engineers. Super cars aren't made for any practical purposes, they're not daily divers, they're not utility vehicles, they're not cruisers or luxury tourers, they are fun and fast toys made to be enjoyed. As long as the design isn't responsible for the problem engineers don't give a single fuck who buys them or what they do with them.

The other people in the Subaru played dumb. Every answer was, 'I don't know.' I told this to the police, they laughed, "Yeah. He probably had warrants." It gets better! The 'driver' of said Subaru took the fall for the crash. Her name didn't match the name on the insurance papers. I'm guessing she borrowed the car from a friend. I had a mat kinda like yours. For a project for electronics engineering class I mounted it to a wood frame I made and built it traffic lights that worked like real intersection lights. And a road sensor that detected who was there first. The whole thing was controlled by an Allen Bradley PLC. Was so much fun to build!

@@connorriley7511 The US government gets people in non extradition countries all the time. If the relationship is good enough and it's a US citizen some countries will just let them come and arrest them even without an official agreement. But a lot of the time they will just use bounty hunters. They don't directly tell anyone to go arrest them, but they have a list and will pay once turned over to the feds. These people are basically kidnapped, blindfolded and shipped back. They aren't ever told anything and most of the time they just assume it was the government who did it. Besides you could get arrested for crashing into a person on purpose. In the U.S. that's called attempted murder.

Simple response from the government. Award the title of the car to the victim, and allow them to sell the vehicle/parts if that engine is good, and low milage it would at least sell for enough to cover the car he hit. Arrest this guy if he comes back to the country, and deal with it from there. Also that mat on the wall reminds me of the one I had in my room when I was kid.
