Glad you’re back and feeling better. In my 50s and I learn more from you than KZreadrs my age. You have a natural ability to deliver high quality, insightful content that is a pleasure to consume.
I love that people have more resources today to find what flatters most. The only problem I have is people thinking that one type of beauty is better than another. In my mid 40's I know what works for me and I stick to it. Ladies, please know that there is beauty in every one of you. Confidence with a balance of humility is the true key to attractiveness.

Fantastic exploration of the topic, as always! That lipstick looks really great on you, but you don't look corpse-like at all, in any lip colour, and I can't believe anyone was that rude. I mean, I can believe it, because I've met the Internet before, but really... some people should get their commenting licence revoked.

One video idea: I would love to learn more about how to choose the right shape and size of jewelry, depending on your facial features. I find it really hard to know what suits me! Delicate/bold, shape and colour

@@stylemejenn So excited! 🤗
Every single filter I have tried in my life never works because I have: 1. Very low eyebrows. 2. hooded eyes. 3. My lips seem to always be too short (width wise) for the filters. 4. Idk why… but most rouges dont work on me. Rouge=blush filters. If I let a tiktok filter decide I am low or high visual weight, according to it I would be the lowest of the lowest of lowest weight because simply most filters don’t work on me. But I am deff not on the lowest, I have a high nose bridge. And the reason why heavy eye makeup doesn’t look good on me is the hoods and small space below eyebrows.
This lipstick is great on you. You have phenomenal lips. But I hadnt noticed them before this video. This lipstick color is both classy, understated, and lush.

Thank you! It's a color I've been mixing with others in the past but I wore the color alone this time and also tried the smudging lip line trick that I've been seeing trending these days! :D

@@stylemejenn Such a pretty color! What lipstick did you use?
I follow Dear Peachie here on the KZreads and yes, they definitely helped popularize the concept of visual weight. The visual weight filter on TikTok is new to me; I can see why people get discouraged when using it. My own visual weight skews high (snub nose notwithstanding) and the upshot is that most of the makeup artists I've met enjoy putting me in high-impact looks. My personal go-to when I want to make an impression is a brick red or other dark lippie with lightly defined eyes. It works. That lip color is fabulous on you, by the way--great video!

@@stylemejenn Right? Any time I look at the books by Way Bandy or Kevyn Aucoin I am inspired by their obvious enthusiasm for clients with bold and unusual features. My late mother was the same way: Not only did she get a kick out of working with people who could pull off bolder looks, she herself had striking features that could carry a strong eye or lip with ease.
Love this look on you! Also, yes. I do agree that what "suits" anyone depends on whats trending, atleast to some extent.

As a fan of Dear Peachie, I was curious how this concept would translate to non-east-Asian faces. So this really helped clarify some things.

Yess so true the filter is really not a great way to see whether you have high visual or low visual weight because EVERYONE (including those who most definitely have high visual weight) started claiming that theyre low visual weight because that filter is just not that accurate

I've always been a minimal makeup kind of gal, but the high visual weight side of the filter looked really good. I'll definitely be looking into morre high visual weight styles to try uot

Another great video! I love that you included that spectrum. I, for example, feel like I have medium-high. I have fairly large eyes but pretty balanced otherwise. I watched both videos BTW, and they're both helpful.

Wow someone said you were casket ready 😂 I’ve been there but with your videos I’m definitely doing better with makeup
I usually love determining what looks good on people using typing systems, but I 100% think visual weight is so useless. It’s all about preference! Like, even celebrity examples that are high visual weight look better with low visual weight makeup to me bc I just prefer it!
Ohh maybe this is why I love watching 2010s music videos and movies much more. I miss the aesthetic. Some modern shows I just can’t bear to watch them they feel so bland and ugly and this must be why.

To me you look like a high visual weight, your eyes are contrasting and they draw attention. I feel like high visual weight=sexy, prominent features vs low visual weight=delicate feminine features. Both are attractive

Great content, as always! Could you please give some makeup tips for asian faces with low visual face features, specifically very small monolid eyes, but wide face and prominent lips? I personally would love to go for natural makeup, however I believe that I only look attractive as long as I do a heavy eye makeup (lots of eyeshadows and wings). This is not so practical for an everyday makeup, so, I would love to see your suggestions ❤

From my own experimentation with makeup I think that having a big lid space is automatically raising your visual weight A LOT. I have huge eyes - but they're hooded, so while they are usually the first thing people notice about me, it's still not as much as when I put some tape in my crease. Same as with people with monolid I think. And you have to be a lot more carrful with the placement and the amount of eye makeup if you have hooded eyes, they easily ger buried under the eyeshadow.

I don’t use that feature as an indicator because I think I have high visual weight but the bold makeup filter makes me look so manly! I think it’s because I already have strong features so the filter just intensifies it
Omg you definitely don’t look “embalmed” - that’s so rude for someone to say!! Anyway your makeup is always tasteful and chill.

@@stylemejenn hi,again could you please make a video about Mcjimsey sistem? Is the sistem that inspire Kibbe and kitchener to do the ying yang method and in her sistem ingenue is included witch in kibbe body types isnt. If you wanna know where search about her sistem the Elyssa channel have some videos about that . Thanks for reading!
Of course you should wear your makeup however you like it best, but tbh, sometimes it does look like you have no eyebrows :/ Even on this video, I can barely see them. Maybe it's the light? Who care about my opinion though, you do you.
Honestly I haven't seen anyone where I thought they looked better with high visual weight. 🤷♀️
Do you think someone like Anya Taylor-Joy has high or low visual weight? I watched your video that talked about how her wide set eyes need more makeup, so you’d like that means high visual weight, but I noticed that celebrities with features like her tend to look ethereal/ingenue and seem to be low visual weight.
@stylemejenn

I think her visual weight is high based on the size of her eyes, despite the ethereal essence / lower contrast! :)
