I'm a Veloster N owner too. It's got a legitimate tune from LAP 3. In November I'm taking it to them in Haymarket Virginia for them to add some goodies to. I have never claimed that my car is fast. Handles well, and does have some capability for sure even with a mere tune. Though, it's no super car. You are absolutely right in that we do not claim this clown.

Currently waiting for my 2024 Elantra N. People are so quick to shit on the N and then turn around and glaze a Honda. When the DCT is faster than the Type R at half the price. Definitely no "super car" but it's different and fun.

More annoying now, he messaged me about it honestly, and lied through his teeth saying how he never stole it just was "comparing times" I was trying to be nice to him and help him. But his ego and arrogance was too much and he let that get in the way. I work as a professional driving coach in Florida and had him blacklisted at a few driving organizations, and his life will be more difficult at others now. I honestly dont expect this to stop him from continuing to lie in the future, but an attitude like that on track is dangerous around other cars. So at this point, I am glad that he is getting all this heat. Some drivers work really hard for the times they run, and would be a lot more pissed than me. So for someone to come in and just claim they did it with zero effort is a slap in the face. Its sort of like logging on your favorite game and seeing the top 10 people on the leaderboard with obviously fake times or scores.

As a mopar owner, I’m glad someone else is taking the heat for once 💀

I'm not a car guy (I drive a Honda CRV, lol) but I do know photoshop, and I've trolled people before with text-based photoshops. This is just terrible work all the around - random lining, mismatched fonts, mismatched font sizes, mismatched font states, mismatched spacing... if it wouldn't even fool him, why would he think it would fool anyone else? It's silly, because it would not have been difficult to fake convincingly, with maybe another minute or two's worth of time spent. Seems like the laziness isn't just on his record keeping.

Sim racer here. The only reason I can drift is because of Assetto Corsa. BUT... Hotlaps are hard to do when you don't have actual experience, along with discipline. Many people hop on a track day with other opponents irl, and make a fool of themselves, running the others off the track on complete incompetent accident. Sim racing gets you started, but setting those lap times STRAIGHT OUT THE GATE on your first try, is **almost** unheard of. It took me years to be able to even START passing other cars of similar class on the Nordschliefe, and if I ever travelled to Germany, I'd start in a stock NA or NB miata, maybe even a 90 somethin civic. I'd want Misha Charoudin in the passenger seat coaching me, and I'd never try going alone until I've actually set a REAL lap time, without hiccup. Basically, I have tons of experience with sim racing, but the closest thing I've done to showing my skill IRL, are the two simple slides I've hit, with an open rear diff of the infiniti I just got last week... Sim racing helps a ton, but not nearly enough to make this poser unpose.

Hey, I’m the G37 driver in the video. Most of my experience actually comes from sim racing in assetto corsa. If you build your car in the simulator and drive on laser scanned tracks, the experience is incredibly useful. I would say that my IRL trackday experience has been more of me just getting passed the fears that you don’t face in the sim, learning to hold myself in the seat, and learning how to not break the car haha

I'm by no means the fastest around, but being provoked by the few N drivers that ran up on me, I definitely didn't hesitate to stomp on their ego's. Some of these guys think their cars have A90 Supra potential. Kind of reminds of the kia stinger days. It's a good sports sedan for its price range. Lot of value, really, but it's by no means an STI, Golf R, or RS3. Just enjoy the car for what it is.

I mean nothing against the Elantra n but it has the same issue that makes a type r slow which is fwd need sticky tires to actually pit power down in a turn other wise it runs in to the issue if spinning tire n nothing against fwd but rwd has a lot more grip when it comes to throttling through a corner

I immediately took down the post and made corrections that my actual time maybe 1:29 instead. NEVER LIE on your track times and there is no shame being slow. As soon as one person lies, the respect and credibility is diminished. I always give it up to people who track their cars.

Video Editor here, Look at 15:05, the way the camera shakes when the Elantra N is going around the corner already gives it away that the footage is sped up. Yes, the camera shakes throughout but the car's suspension should react with the same speed everytime. Cars don't tend to bounce faster in some turns compared to others. And also the camera does like a weird flick when it tries to recenter. They just dont do things that quick so I can already tell it's sped up footage.

It okay if your car has slow lap time, but if you are lying about your about your lap time, then that where I draw the line.

Drew, your biggest friend at the track is an infrared thermometer. You can tell so much about how to improve your setup on any car by taking temps on the inner and outer edges as well as a middle reading. The temps (or a thermal scope if you can swing it as a huge dicked KZreadr the way you are) can show you immediately excessive toe or camber. You want almost uniform tire temps across the whole contact surface

As someone who owns an Elantra N even if you double it's HP you still ain't out performing any modern-day Porsche on any track, no idea how stock his car is but can't change the fact it's FWD. I love my EN it's such a fun car for its price too, but it ain't no real sport car killer, let alone a super car killer. I'll speak on behalf of all other N owners we don't accept him as one of ours.

I always knew the G37 was capable of great things with the right owner. Ive talked with that guy and hes really cool, definitely gonna look to get advice from him in the future for my G37

That sucks. As a Elantra N owner , i know what the car is. Its a great performance bargain, its not going to dethrone any of the top apex predators on the track. Also, most of the N owners ive met here in NC do not act like this clown, so we dont claim him. Hopefully he will jump ship, or go EV😅
