I'm originally from the middle East and it's incredible how much this video reminds me of the villages around my home town. The heat coming out of the earth even after the sun had set. Scorched earth, scorched countries. The soft colours of the sunset here are different from the sunset of colder countries like Canada where Charlie drove in the sunset time too. Thank you X

Thanks for doing this video. I'm from SoCal and my grandparents used to take us to Tijuana as kids. I have very fond memories of the place and the people. I know it's changed a lot since then. It has made the top five most dangerous cities lists, sometimes coming in at #1. People saying it looks less dangerous than LA don't understand how bad it's gotten due to narcos, corrupt police and government. You're very brave to go in there, especially at night.

I moved to TJ for a year now and im not even form mexico or the US, is definitely way less dangerous than most people think. narcos are not an issue for normal people and the police dont mess with you. Also I dont hear a lot about robberies compared to other places I lived in. However I always use the common sence and dont go to places Im suposed to go.

"Made the top five most dangerous cities lists"?, by who? not Mexico, been living in Tijuana for over 45 years, an Anglo, the most visited city in the world (look it up) the dangers are way exaggerated, his not brave, notice when he goes nothing happens? you don't know Tijuana, most of that hype comes from the U.S., I walk all over my neighborhood of over 100-K for exercise, sometimes at night, don't see thugs, criminals and gangbangers, I even walk sometimes 2:am to the store, nothing happens, never seen a cartel war, not even a shooting, not to say it cant happen its U.S. hype, the U.S. is going crazy, for general crime the U.S, is more dangerous, even the President of Mexico said that, I concur, even the cartels are exaggerated, the cartels don't run nor control Mexico, the murder of Americans is low in Mexico, most believed for there criminal activities like drugs and cartel stuff, the same exaggerated lies about migrants being criminals, there less likely to cause crime then native born Americans, and stop calling your American criminals and gangbanger Mexicans and the cartel, all drugs don't come from Mexico, there's 100s of illegal drug labs in the U.S. (look that up too) stop looking for escape goat and foreign monsters

In Mexico people that sell drugs, rob, or into all that are way more organized than in the US cause people in Mexico are chill but if you want to find problems you’ll regret it in Mexico. Here in the US you’ll find problems but the cops here will do something about it and in Mexico if you tell a cop you seen this and that your fucked cause they are connected to the cartels and gangs. That’s why it feels safer in US tbh

Just for people saying he’s “very brave” to come to Tijuana, no mean to disrespect my boy here but if you stay clean and out of trouble your chances of being a target for a cartel are nearly zero. There’s some petty crime here but if you’re driving the chances you’ll fall victim to them are way lower. I’m from Tijuana, I’ve been driving for some years now and never felt threatened, there are some road rage incidents like everywhere but luckily for me I’m a tall guy and I practice boxing, that’s taken me out of one or two situations, the hoods look kinda eerie though, specially for someone from US/Canada, Europe, Australia/NZ, JP, SK etc, but most of them are safe.

I helped build a church in Tecate 20 years ago. Rancho de ses ninos. What stood out the most was seeing how poor people are but everyone dressed sharp and no garbage nowhere. A saw houses with pallet fences and house’s made of pallets. Throwing wires over the power lines and stealing electricity. Live wires on the ground and people tapping into it, tripped me out. Lady sweeping her dirt floor. I was impressed by their pride.
