Tim, been watching your videos for last yr or so.. My younger brother is Timber dealer here in Georgia (West Central). He had 2 full time crews himself up until about a yr ago. He sold that equipment to the guys (2 Father/Sons combos that ran each crew) that operated crews, etc. He just strictly buys timber now from land owners...he keeps 9 (NINE) full time logging crews working. Our late Dad was in the Timber business for about 35 yrs. He was a Timber Cruiser and bought the wood for the Companies (of course you know what this consist of) Our Dad started for Great Southern Paper Co. In 1967.. early/mid 70's.. Great Northern Nekoosa Corp. bought GSP.. 1990 Georgia Pacific bought GNN..Daddy retired in 1995.. then worked for a local Timber Dealer till 2002.. That's really how younger brother got into Timber business (started out in land reclamation for GP through our Dad) .. He has been in/around Timber business since 1992 when he graduated College. I, myself, went into the Elevator trade in a Union job in Atlanta for Otis Elevator (retired in 2016 w/ 32 yrs service).. I do get out there and help my younger brother whenever he needs a hand (he does do the trucking for 3-4 of his loggers .. I drive a Mack or Peterbilt when he needs a driver) .. Truly enjoy your videos as I understand ALL aspects of what your crews are doing.. all the "headaches" too!! that go along w/ logging... Folks TRULY just do not realize how MUCH of their life is related to those trees being taken down and WHEREVER they go from the woods!!.. Be SAFE brother!!!.. ENJOY your videos.. makes me think of my late Dad so Much!! MUCH RESPECT to YOU!!

Tim looks like you need to barrow the that old John deer cable skidder, and pull wood around the clock. 😆 The only good to come of that would be to remind you boys of how good you got it with those newer machines.

New or old . 100 years old or made yesterday if its man made you will have problems . Some are lucky and never have problems . I had a friend bought a car new 54 miles on it . Drove it home and on way home motor locked up . It turned out to be a something was in oil pan from factory and clogged oil pump. Moral of it is nothing in this world is made perfect . Tim im glad you guys were able to get it out and send it to be fixed. There are a lot of skidders around my area sitting in the woods that caught fire and burn up and just had to leave there. Just last year a knuckle boom loader burn up just down the road and it is still there. Stay safe guys and Happy holidayx.

Tim the Thursday before Thanksgiving my bobcat went down and I knew it was a fuel injector problem. It was a week and 2 days before we got it back to running. Then the next Tuesday after Thanksgiving the unversible joint when out in my work truck and it took a week to get parts for it cause it not only broke the U joint it also broke the carrier bearing and the piece that bolts to rear end and we found after we got it a part that the 2 u joint of 3 total was broke too. So I understand what goes on with this equipment. Have a merry Christmas. Have a good day and be safe.
