Fun fact: Those annoying “smoke grenade” launchers on the Tiger are in-fact anti-personnel fragmentary grenade launchers, used for when a group of infantry rush the tank. Hence, that’s why they face in all directions. All of this to say, that means they’re even more useless than empty smoke grenade launchers, in a game with no infantry. Go figure!

It's not the headlights that keeps preventing your turret to traverse without elevating it, but it's the S-Mine at the corner of the tank. The Tiger E don't have those S-Mine which makes the traverse a little bit better.

Good guide is that ur corner is pointed at the enemy but tiger has the annoying headlight that do not let ur gun depress near the corners so be careful. I know my explanation is not great but there are plenty of videos on how to angle.

When I had the Tiger1 a few years ago...WT matchmaking bias was extreme. So I was facing T29s, T28s, IS2 Mod 1944..these 3 in EVERY GAME, and even T44 variants rarely. I got the Tiger 2 at 6.3 hoping it would balance it out. But then the IS3s came rolling I'm every damn game. So at that point I just uninstalled the game

@@ertugrulbae46 sure the uptier suck a lot of times taking you even one BR higher, but honestly I see most tiger players not playing the Tiger rigth and it frustrates me because most of the time half the team will be made of Tigers and only some of them get to survive

My current favourite tank in War Thunder. This has been the best Christmas present War Thunder has given in years. A super tough tank and now everyone will know about its new found strength.

I find the thing most worth remembering about any of the panzerIV or tiger tanks is on any approach towards the enemy if you can hold an angle at or above 45 degrees you're going to be a huge headache for the enemy team, even the panzer III's are insanely likely to bounce if you play them at an angle & if a round does make it through the panzer III armor is thin enough to get that no-armor-best-armor goodness! no idea how accurate that is but gaijin's armor meta for low to mid tier is incredibly interesting once you start understanding how to work it, I always learn quite a bit about about WT mechanics watching Phly's videos.

agreed... when I started out and didn't angle, I kept on getting destroyed quickly but if I didn't act like an idiot and hid the side plate while angling, I could get 6 kills without much hassle

When its angled..it will literally bounce practically everything. The only danger is the neck like every tank. And for the H1 the Hull is weaker. But even for the E.. its only reinforced with 2 small areas on both sides of the weakspots but they make a huge difference. I learned to angle them too so....just give it a wiggle just before the enemy shoot. Now the whole tank is a bouncer I unlocked Tiger 1 a few years back when it was uptiered everygame, fighting downtiered T29s, T28s, IS2/Mod 1944, T44s etc...eventually I earned to bully them every game. Flippin heck there were moments where I took a good last stand against several tanks..killing many of them in the process. This tank can take a good beating. Most shots will bounce

Even when I angle I still get 1 shotted so I theres really no excuse I play really slow too and yet I still come across people that one shot me even though I'm like far away it's just stupid if you ask me and I'm not as stupid as some players but still its doesnt make it right for someone oneshotting me from a mile away with something like a standard Sherman or British tank I've tried every angle too and guess what It doesnt work now I dont play the game mostly because I usually get into sweaty sad games for my lvl and kd it's just stupid tbh

Thank you for the video just started playing level 10 and I was debating on this or the Sherman played last night and it was fun had more kills then usually. It’s a tough tank to take out if positioned right

I never realized how easy it was to kill Tiger’s with the Jumbo, but now 5.3 is my favorite BR. 2 shots to the copala and they’re out. 2 APDS to the turret face of a Panther and they’re out

This thing goes from "unpenetrable" to "one shot while angled on the side with empty ammo racks" like nothing else. The 10-20% of matches that work are *übersatisfing* tho, so all worth it.

Phly just said that tiger isn't op, wtf Tigers just sucks because 90% of germany players are simply braindead, on my second time using it, I got 13 kills, and only got penetrated once. Tiger is basically the same as sherman, but with way better armor and slightly less mobility
