Tiger 900 and Africa Twin - Adventure to Old Tunnel State Park

The Time to Moto guys are riding from Blanco, Texas to Old Tunnel State Park in Fredericksburg, Texas. The 920 ft. tunnel of the Fredericksburg Northern Railway was part of the build linking Fredericksburg to San Antonio. In 1913 area residents raised money for the railway but the hill increased cost by $134,000 and required 5 months of hard labor. It was operational until 1942 when the track was sold for scrap.

Looks like there are some nice dirt roads to explore out in Texas. I’m curious if you guys run stock tires on your bikes ? If not which tires do you prefer.

The stock tires on the GT Pro were street tires and scary on the dirt roads. I’m running 80/20 - Michelin Anakee Adventure tires on it and they perform much better on and off paved roads. The Africa Twin stock tire were replaced with Shinko 80/20 tires and he says they’re pretty decent on dirt roads too.

Thanks for the information, I ride a 900 gt as well and I’m going to have to switch out the stock tires next year. There’s so much out there to choose from.

@@Radarman766 Yea there is a lot to choose from for sure. It depends on what percentage you plan to ride on and off paved roads. I got the 80/20s because I mostly ride on paved surfaces but occasionally hit dirt roads or trails.
